Fortnite Dog Names in Pop Culture
One of the best parts of Fortnite is scouring the store for the coolest new skins. The Rex skin has been a fan favorite since its introduction in March 2018. This T-Rex skin was part of the Dino Guard duo, which also features a female Triceratops called "Tricera Ops."
If you've played Fortnite for a while, you've probably spotted Rex on loading screens and posters throughout the game. Rex still makes appearances in the Fortnite shop from time to time, and you can purchase this legendary skin for the low price of 2,000 VBucks.
Besides being a popular skin in Fortnite, the name "Rex" was popularized by an adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and White House resident. This adorable first-puppy was the beloved pet of President (and movie star) Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy.
This beautiful red and white spaniel was the namesake of the White House usher and had quite a few duties himself, including lending a paw with the White House Christmas tree lighting ceremony. The Reagan family adopted Rex after their first White House companion grew too big and relocated to their house in California.
As sweet as Rex appeared, Rex was known for having poor leash manners, and friends of the first family advised them to have their pet professionally trained because it was thought to be "bad for their image".
Though rambunctious and excitable, Rex found his way onto the top 10 best presidential dogs list, ringing in at number 4. With those big sad brown eyes, it's shouldn't surprise anyone.
Fortnite name considerations
Fortnite is a whimsical game, with fun dances, wild storylines, and often unconventional skins (cue the tomato guy). Fortnite is equal parts quirky and competitive, so a Fortnite-inspired name would suit pups with any demeanor.
Even though the skins don't add any advantages in the game, they are a status symbol amongst Fortnite players. There are tons of different sets and many holiday skins as well.
