Georgian Dog Names In Pop Culture
Mr. Giorgi Bereziani from Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital, was crushed when his pup, Jorge, went missing. Bereziani did not give up hope and continued to post notices and search the streets in the hopes of locating his special friend. Three years later, Bereziani was reunited with Jorge. Workers at an opera house noticed Jorge and contacted his owner. The YouTube channel ViralHog uploaded a video of the reunion, which seemed to mainly be filmed in the first person by Mr. Bereziani, who appears to be taking the bus while looking for his dog. After getting off the bus and walking a short distance, he comes across Jorge lying at a tree along the pavement.
In the video, Mr. Bereziani calls for his dog; when Jorge, a black and white dog, hears his voice, he starts to whimper, perhaps as a result of recognizing his voice. Jorge continues to make whimpering sounds between barks and puts his paws on Mr. Bereziani, sniffing him. Jorge appears to be excited to see his person again. According to ViralHog, Jorge had a yellow tag on which means that he was taken from the streets by animal control workers, was vaccinated and released because he was thought to be harmless. The clip has received more than 250,000 views on YouTube.
A dog in Georgia made headlines during a professional soccer game. A match was underway between FC Dila and Torpedo Kutaisi of Georgia’s Erovnuli Liga in Gori. During the second half of the scoreless match, a dog made her way onto the field. The cute pup greeted some of the players, ran around a bit and spent some time with the Dila goalkeeper, who performed tricks with the pup, and acquiesced to her requests for belly rubs. Those watching the game laughed as the dog spent around three minutes on the field, interacting with players. The pooch wound up being difficult to catch; security tried to drag the dog off of the field, however, she escaped and ran off. The pup had a white tag on her ear, meaning that she was likely a stray put up for adoption who did not find a home.
Georgian Dog Name Considerations
If a name for your pup does not immediately come to mind, don’t despair. Instead, consider what is important to you in a name. Ask yourself your priorities; do you want a name that is unique? That has meaning to you?
Once you have determined what is important to you in a name, you can have a little adventure in order to find the perfect moniker for your pet. Start by choosing a place that interests you. Take the country of Georgia, for example. A mountainous country in Eurasia, Georgia offers interesting scenery and a rich cultural history. If Georgia is a place that piques your interest, go ahead and embark on a virtual exploration. During your journey, you will encounter the country's cities, towns, mountains, rivers, popular food, famous people and more. Take note of potential names for your pup as you explore. Upon your “return” you can try the possibilities you have discovered and choose the name that best fits your dog.
With a tag from Georgia, your dog will not only have a unique moniker, but you will receive regular reminders of the country each time you call the name!
