Introduction
Home Alone Inspired Dog Names in Pop Culture
If you’re not aware, there’s a dog version of Home Alone, and it’s called Alone for Christmas (its U.S. title). It hit screens as Bone Alone in other parts of the world. It’s a low-budget movie, and it’s, of course, meant to be silly, over-the-top, and even utterly ridiculous. Instead of a blockbuster, it’s known as a “mockbuster.” The star of the production is a dog named Bone, and he’s a Blue Heeler. He has a few other puppy pals to help him when his family leaves to go visit Grandma for Christmas. Bone is sad because he’ll miss the turkey dinner.
But it’s a good thing he’s around. The family alerts the postman that they’ll be leaving, and guess what? The postman is actually a burglar! Bone and his friends have to do all that they can to help save the house, the Christmas gifts, and their own lives. Good thing Bone can skateboard, and even whack people over the head with a frying pan again and again. He talks, of course, and he can even do so while holding something in his mouth. This doggo is magical, and this movie is hilarious.
It’s made as a parody, but sometimes, it strays from the original Home Alone action. But if you’re a dog lover, then you’ll appreciate the film for its inclusion of adorable canines. That’s all we need to be entertained for a bit, right? Kids will appreciate it even more. Some of the tricks Bone has up his furry sleeve happen to be quite handy (or paw-y, one might say) when trying to trap the three thieves. He scratches the deck so thin that one burglar falls through. He pours glue all over stuffed animals, and a thief finds himself covered in teddy bears and other cuddly toys. Finally, he sets up a toy train to electrocute the intruders. Wow, Bone! You’re one sneaky boy!
The film is made by The Asylum, and they’re known for movies like Sharknado. So, you get the idea. Oddly, Bone doesn’t make the cut for the cover or poster of the mockbuster. It’s pretty jarring to see the Boston Terrier photo and then to pop in the DVD and note that the main doggy is actually a Blue Heeler. Weird! But so is the rest of the production. If you enjoy a wild adventure with talking dogs, though, you’re in for a dog treat that you’ll never forget!
Home Alone Inspired Dog Name Considerations
There are so many treasured scenes in Home Alone. Whether you love Kevin accidentally stealing a toothbrush, screaming in horror at aftershave, crashing with Buzz’s bedroom shelves, or preparing for the night of the burglary, you more than likely cherish the Christmas classic and watch it annually. We know that with absolutely no explanation at all, you’ll recognize all the names, objects, and references in our guide below. We hope you’ll find what you’re looking for!
If you’ve got a pair of doggos you’re trying to name, think about going with “Harry and Marv." If they’re an older and younger brother duo, try “Buzz and Kevin." If you’ve got a chubby little fur baby on your hands, think about John Candy’s polka-loving character and name them “Gus.” Kevin loves “Cheese” “Pizza,” so those could be great names as well. Go with “Goldie” to represent Harry’s lost gold tooth, which isn’t discovered until the very end of the film. And don’t forget “Marley” because Old Man Marley makes a huge difference in Kevin’s growth during the movie. The titles “Snakes,” “Chicago,” “Fuller,” and “Tarry” or “Tula” for tarantula all make sense to you. Why not kick back and watch Home Alone whatever the season? Land the best name for yout “home alone” fur buddy.Male Home Alone Inspired Dog Names
