Line of Duty Inspired Dog Names

Two dogs stand out from the crowd when it comes to Line of Duty inspired dog names, and they are Danny and Mike. Both Danny and Mike are police in different units in the Line of Duty, both of which marginally relate to the personality traits of both dogs in pop culture of the same name too.

Danny in Line of Duty is an armed response unit member, as well as the show’s newest protagonist. Most people see his character as one that rules his workforce with an iron fist and takes no guff from anyone. As a result, he is not at the top of everyone’s favorite boss list. They also see him as driven, ambitious, intelligent, and wily. Danny is a complex character and, like an onion, he has a lot of layers.

Because he takes a lot of risks in his role, the TV show sets to unveil and establish why it is he puts himself into situations of unpredictability and danger. The inner workings of his character slowly come to light over time.

Like Danny in Line of Duty, Danny Boy, the dog in pop culture, is in a similar role. He is a German Shepherd and a highly decorated war dog in the film Danny Boy. The 1946 movie follows Jimmy, Danny Boy’s owner, as he fights to get Danny back after an animal abuser kidnapped him, the neighbor who claims Danny is a danger.

The movie then takes a turn as officials want Danny put to sleep due to his danger to the public. It turns out the neighbor’s abuse is to blame, and the officials revoke the order for the destruction of Danny.

The next Line of Duty character is Mike Dryden, a police officer with political savviness, ambition, and charisma. Mike is a detective chief constable, played by the actor Mark Bonnar. Mike is in charge of an ambush investigation, but his team quickly discover that Mike has underlying reasons and an agenda for taking control of the case. They try to work out why.

Mike is also a dog in pop culture, owned by Ray in the 1954 film called Bait. Mike is a mixed-breed dog and follows Ray as he, and another man and woman search for gold in remote mountains. As is often the case when a lot of money is involved, plans evolve for murder to take place to avoid sharing the profits.
