Introduction
Mike & Molly Inspired Dog Names in Pop Culture
On the show, “Mike & Molly,” Jim is a Chussel, a small brown raggedy-looking pooch that has a seriously funny fursonality. He is known for his gas problems because he is always sitting on the couch passing wind. You can see Jim in almost every episode of the show, and he is always doing something hilarious. In fact, even when he is just sitting there looking cute, he is pretty funny.
Although Jim is a male on the show, he is actually a female in real life. Her name is Suzy Q and “Mike & Molly” was her first acting gig. According to Rondi Reed, who plays Peggy in the show, she was a shelter dog, and now she lives with 12 other dogs, and she is the boss of all of them. This goes to show you that size does not matter when it comes to dogs.
Another dog named Jim was Jim the Wonder Dog, who was an English Setter with pawsitively amazing abilities. In fact, this cunning canine kid could predict things and made even psychology professors at the Washington University in Missouri shake their heads in amazement. He was born in Louisiana in 1925 but was bought by his owner, Sam Van Arsdale, who lived in West Plains, Missouri. He trained Jim as a hunting dog, but he discovered his pooch’s talents right away although Sam had no clue how he did it.
According to Sam, Jim did not need much training. He seemed to know instinctively what he was supposed to do. One day, Sam said, “Let’s sit in the shade of a hickory tree to rest,” and Jim went to the nearest hickory tree and sat down. So, Sam asked him to show him an oak tree, and he went to an oak tree. They did the same with a walnut and cedar tree, and even a hazel bush. Sam immediately knew he had a special pup and wanted to show him to the world.
Sam performed once with Jim on Main Street in Warsaw, Missouri, amazing crowds by asking Jim questions and getting remarkable answers. For example, Sam asked him what he should do if he had a stomach ache and Jim went to the town doctor and nudged him. But Jim and Sam were not from that town and never met the doctor, so everyone was shocked. He then asked his pup what made Henry Ford rich and the smart pooch went to a Model-T Ford.
Jim became famous after that, and they started doing appearances at the University of Missouri and Washington University. He would follow orders and answer questions in different languages such as French, Greek, German, Spanish, and many other languages. He could also tell the gender of unborn babies and even predicted the winner of the Kentucky Derby seven years in a row. There is a park in Marshall, Missouri to honor Jim and a bronze statue of the genius pooch right in the middle so everyone can remember Jim the Wonder Dog.

When you get your new furry family member, some of the things your canine kid is going to need include some fun toys to play with, a collar and leash for taking walks, a good veterinarian to take care of your pup, a nice comfy doggy bed, crunchy bones, tasty treats and kibble, and the ideal name. If you like the show, “Mike & Molly,” there are a bunch of fun names in the character list and the stars who play them have some awesome names to choose from as well.
Fur example, Mike, who is the main character, is a cute name for a pooch and Molly, the other main character, is another adorable poochie name. Reno, who plays Mike’s partner Carl, is a fun name; Swoosie, who plays Joyce, is adorable for a pup; and Rondi, the actress who plays Peggy, is furific for any little girl pooch.
