Montenegro Dog Names

It can be hard to explain to people that when you named your dog, you wanted to incorporate a bit of your Montenegrin heritage. If you want to avoid having to explain it to people, then why not choose Montenegro dog names that also relate to dogs in pop culture?

Monty is the main character in a children’s book by Colin West called Monty the Dog who Wears Glasses. The book came out in 1989 and followed the Sprod family’s dog who wears red spectacles following a near-miss with a cyclist. Monty, the dog, is quite accident-prone and also enjoys eating snacks like mince pies, chocolate biscuits, custard, and sausages. His gluttony often gets him into trouble.

Monty the Dog Who Wears Glasses is one book of many in the Jets Series. Other books in the series include Monty Bites Back, Monty Must be Magic, Monty – Up to His Neck in Trouble, Monty’s Toothache, Monty Ahoy, and Monty’s Ups and Downs.

Alongside the book, Monty also features in a television series called Monty, which BBC I aired from 1994 to 1995. There are 13 episodes of the TV show available, and Ealing Animation is responsible for their creation.

The TV shows about Monty differ from the books somewhat. In the books, the first book explains that Monty’s near-miss with a cyclist sees the cyclist tell him he needs glasses. However, the pair he buys don’t have lenses in them. In the TV series, Monty has lenses in his glasses and is short-sighted.

The book and TV series were popular with children and adults alike throughout the 1990s, but another dog named Monty was equally as popular too. The mixed-breed dog called Monty was Mrs. Riordan’s dog in The Hidden Room, released as Obsession in the United States in 1949.

The film is about a husband who plans to get revenge against his wife’s lover. Monty is the family dog, and the movie gathers its inspiration from the novel by Alec Coppel called A Man About A Dog.
