Introduction
Paired Dog Names for Two Pets in Pop Culture
Yeah, we know. They might not sound like catchy duo names, but just you wait! This “official” puppy couple got their start when they got hitched back in 2016. And dog-lovers everywhere (as well as the Internet in general) went wild for them. The dogs’ Instagrams boasted pictures of the two getting ready to wed. Toast, the lovely lady, was even pictured wearing her custom-designed Marchesa wedding gown and veil. This was real life. This was real, good life.
Toast actually passed away in December of 2017, so the two weren’t married for long. But they had some wonderful times together, and she left quite a legacy. Toast and Finn actually sold tickets to their wedding and raised money for charities aimed at their favorite cause: putting a stop to puppy mills. Toast was famous for “the tongue that will never be forgotten.” This dolled-up King Charles rescue maybe didn’t have teeth, but she had a heart that knew nothing but love. What a bride!
Finn is an adorable Chiweenie who was rescued from a puppy mill just like Toast. Maybe their similar background is what brought them together. He’s still alive and kicking (and digging), and he carries on what the two started: raising awareness and money in the name of the #adoptdontshop movement. A quick Internet search will give you all the details you need to relive their special day and adventures together.
The pair announced their engagement in November of 2016 with a photo that made us all howl with delight! In the golden foliage of autumn, the doggy duo posed on a park bench, Finn looking off lovingly in the distance and Toast’s wavy hair and signature grin basically stealing the show. (You might be thinking of another doggo tongue-star, Norbert. Before you go thinking they should have been friends, they were.)
Toast and Finn hosted many benefits together before and during their union in New York City at the High Line Hotel. They’ve left their mark on us and inspire us all to be the change that we would like to see in the world. They were saved from puppy mills, knew the horrors, and worked to put an end to those horrors. Isn’t it amazing how inspirational our canine companions can be? They can say so much without speaking a word and do so much without lifting a paw. Sometimes, presence, gratefulness, and belief in love are all you need to make a difference.
Paired Dog Names for Two Pets Considerations
Deciding on a pair of dog names is going to be so much fun but also potentially overwhelming. There are so many options out there, many of which we didn’t even get to here in our guide. So read below, of course, but keep the research going. Talk to your friends and family about their favorite pairs in pop culture and history. You’ll more than likely get some great answers. We hope these two will be together for a long time, and we want you to get the pawfect titles for your pawfect, poochy pair!
The cartoon route is a sure bet with names like “Scooby and Shaggy,” “Pooh and Piglet,” “Lady and Tramp,” “Bob and Pat,” along with “Mickey and Minnie.” And the famous couples are impossible to skim over: “Scarlett and Rhett,” “Buzz and Woody,” and “Olive and Popeye” keep standing the test of time. Some duo monikers work completely as one unit: “Romeo and Juliet,” “Sonny and Cher,” and “Starsky and Hutch.” You literally can’t say one without automatically mentioning the other. You might even prefer something a little more simple like “Zig and Zag” or “Salt and Pepper.” Once again, you can’t say one without speaking the other.
