Raising Hope Inspired Dog Names in Pop Culture
Hope is the name of a dog who made headlines in 2012 in Park County, Texas, after she was found with her snout wrapped with electrical cord. The binding left Hope's tongue swollen. She had also been stabbed numerous times and was suffering from severe dehydration. When Hope was found, temperatures in the Texas town were well over 90 degrees. Hope had to have surgery and more than 100 stitches, but she overcame the ordeal and was adopted by a local family. She is a Pug-mix who was estimated to be around four years old at the time she was found. Lucky to be alive, Hope now has a new lease on life, but a year after she was found, nobody had been identified as her abuser. Thousands of dollars have been raised for Hope's medical treatment from all over the world, however, making her an internationally known pooch.
Chance is our second famous dog with a Raising Hope inspired name. Chance is the beloved American Bulldog in the movie Homeward Bound. While in the film Chance is an American Bulldog played by a dog named Rattler, in the book he is actually a Labrador Retriever. In the film, Chance was loved for his spunky personality, but he seems to get the crew into quite a bit of trouble. Michael J. Fox voices Chance in the movie, which makes him all the more memorable.
