Introduction
Zambia is officially the Republic of Zambia. Located in south central Africa, the landlocked country is bordered by the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, Tanzania to the northeast, Malawi to the east, Mozambique to the southeast, Zimbabwe and Botswana to the south, Namibia to the southwest and Angola to the west. The country has a tropical climate and is made up mostly of high plateaus. Zambia also includes some hills and mountains, through which are river valleys. In 2010, Zambia was named one of the world’s fastest economically reformed countries by the World Bank. The beautiful scenery will be just one of the sources of inspiration as you seek the ideal name for your new addition!
Zambia Dog Names In Pop Culture
Ginger was born in the Zambia bush where she was a security dog for a borehole company in Chingola. The pup was scared all the time and could be found cowering under cars located on the property. Then, Ginger experienced a bit of good fortune; two women, Sara Ortin and Sharon Rose, who were traveling in Africa, rescued her. They now take Ginger on their adventures and the pooch is getting the chance to see the world, having visited Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Barcelona. The pooch has raced through National Parks, hiked mountains over 3000 meters high, viewed wild elephants, heard the roar of lions, gone paddle boarding, traveled by boat and helped her people spread awareness.
Dogs in Zambia struggle to survive in poor conditions. This led to Ginger’s new family starting the Dziko Project, an initiative that seeks to bring educational programs to local schools and conducts fundraising in order to host vaccination and sterilization campaigns. Ginger’s story is featured in a video by The Dodo and has received over one million reproductions.
Ginger’s person states that when she first met the pup, she was shy, sweet and gentle. She first met the pooch while doing her Master Thesis in Primatology at a chimpanzee sanctuary and felt love for her immediately. Ginger would even join her on visits to the chimps. When it was decided that there were too many dogs on the property, Ginger was moved and they were separated. One day while traveling through Zambia the women decided to rescue Ginger; and they did on April 24, 2017.
It took a bit of time for Ginger to adjust to her new life. She was terrified and spent weeks focused on finding cars and trucks that she could hide under. When Ginger arrived in Barcelona to spend the holidays and some additional time with the family of her people, she wound up doing quite well. Apparently, the dog from the African bush enjoys smelling every dog she encounters and getting cuddles from people she comes across. The pup has easily adjusted to big city life and her new dog siblings readily accepted her as well. According to her person, Ginger is a dog who just wants to love. This travelling nomad dog is now famous on Instagram!
