Zurich Dog Names In Pop Culture
An eight-year-old dog named Rapunzel, a German Shepherd, was reported missing in Frankfurt. Six months later, Rapunzel was found near Zurich, having traveled 400 kilometers. The pup was seen on the side of the highway between Zurich and Winterthur by emergency rescue personnel, who pulled over and found that she was hypothermic and seemed seriously injured. The workers contacted Zurich police, then sealed off the area to try and gain her trust. As Rapunzel’s condition seemed to get worse, the emergency personnel decided not to wait for an animal ambulance and rushed her to the Zurich veterinary facility where she underwent emergency surgery for several fractures along with internal injuries.
Later, it was discovered that Rapunzel had gone missing in Frankfurt, Germany and that she had been the focus of a long search on the internet as well as social media. The dog’s owners quickly made their way to her and apparently, Rapunzel’s outlook was positive, though she would need to remain in the hospital for some time.
Bellevue Square in Zurich is a great place to visit. Belle happens to be the name of a special pup; a 17 pound Beagle, she was able to save her owner’s life. When Kevin Weaver, her owner, who is diabetic, had a seizure and collapsed as a result of a dangerous drop in blood sugar, Belle sprang into action, biting onto his cell phone in order to call 911. According to Weaver, age 34, “there is no doubt in my mind that I’d be dead if I didn’t have Belle”.
Belle had been trained to handle just such a situation, taught to bite down on the number 9 on Weaver’s phone to contact 911. Her action led to her being the first dog to win the VITA Wireless Samaritan Award, which is given to someone who used a cell phone in order to save a life, prevent a crime or help during an emergency. Animals like Belle are able to use the excellent sense of smell in order to tell when there is an abnormality in someone’s blood sugar levels. In Belle’s case, she will periodically lick Weaver’s nose in order to get a “reading” of his blood-sugar level. If something appears off to her, she will alert him by pawing and whining. Her actions will lead to Weaver getting his meter and testing himself. According to Weaver, “she’s never been wrong”.
Zurich Dog Name Considerations
Can’t seem to decide on a name for your new canine companion? This is a common problem experienced when bringing home a new pet. The struggle to decide on a moniker is understandable; after all, you will be calling your pup by the name that you choose for years to come. It makes sense that you want to feel good about your choice.
One way to find a name that is unique and that has some meaning to you, is to take a closer look at a place that interests you. Take the city of Zurich, for example. Keep your eyes out for a name that fits your pup as you explore. If you come up with a few possibilities, you can try them out on your dog and see which feels best.
With a name from Zurich, each time you call for your pup you will be reminded of a unique and exciting city.
