Animal shelter spotlight in Seattle

Seattle Humane

Seattle Humane has been working to save the lives of pets in need for more than 125 years. Though its beginnings may have been humble, this 501(c)3 organization now operates an impressive modern animal shelter and veterinary medicine facility.

Adoption services are a key part of Seattle Humane's operations, and in the 2022-23 fiscal year alone, it saved the lives of almost 6,000 shelter pets. But it also offers a wide range of other community services, like spaying and neutering, affordable and accessible veterinary care, and post-adoption care.

The organization also runs the Pet Food Bank to provide pet food donations to pet parents in the community. It provides more than 80,000 meals each month to help Seattle's pets stay healthy and happy, and also accepts donations of supplies such as leashes and collars, parasite prevention products, and crates and kennels.

You can make a financial donation online, host a fundraiser, or make an in-kind donation. Check out the Seattle Humane website to find out more about how you can help this wonderful organization.
