Cedar Hill is a lovely city located in the Dallas and Ellis counties in Texas. The town is mostly known for the 1856 tornado that ripped through the town and only left two buildings standing after its destruction was finished. Since then, Cedar Hill has grown, and its residents take their dogs' health very seriously! It's home to five veterinarians that your pup can visit for a check-up or any medical need that should arise.

If your dog loves to explore the great outdoors, then take him to visit one of the great parks that Cedar Hill has to offer. Crawford Park is a great place to let Fido explore. It’s 10.76-acres features amenities like picnic tables, restrooms, a baseball field, grills, and an open grass field that your dog can play fetch in. If you’re both craving more space to explore, then head over to Valley Ridge Park which is a whopping 164-acres of doggie heaven! The park offers a fishing pond, a 1.5-mile paved trail to explore, plus some sports fields.

All that outdoor adventure may leave you two hungry. Be sure to stop into one of the dog friendly restaurants that welcomes your dog to join you for a tasty meal. Schlotzsky’s is a well-known restaurant that serves up tasty salads, wraps, and flatbreads that you can eat on their dog friendly outdoor patio.

Cedar Hill State Park is a pawsome park to hike with Fido and spend a nice afternoon exploring. The park features four trails that your dog is welcome to be on with you if he stays on leash. The Dorba Trail has three different loops you can complete, which range from 2.5-miles to 10-miles, taking you through wooded areas. This trail is known to be populated by mountain bikers, so be cautious with your pup. The Overlook Trail has a small creek that runs through it that is perfect to splash through with your pup, and is considered one of the easier trails in Cedar Hill State Park. The Duck Pond Trail is the shortest hike out of the four, and only a half-mile long. This trail takes you pass an open field and a small duck pond before you cross a creek by a small bridge. The last beautiful trail you both can explore is the Talala Trail. This pawsome trail takes you through a wooded area and a small gully, and will take you up some hills, so it can be a more challenging hike for some. Make sure to bring plenty of water with you while you enjoy these great hikes.
