Dog Areas in Cooperstown

The small borough of Cooperstown, Pennsylvania, lies in the northwest portion of the state. This community offers residents a scenic place to live, surrounded by forested nature. The Sugar Creek runs through this area, which visitors and its citizens frequent as a great place to fish. Dog-friendly throughout, this town does not offer its own veterinarian, but your pup will be in good hands at the Cochranton Veterinary Hospital in the nearby town of Cochranton, should the need arise.

This rural area has several open land areas that are welcoming to visitors. The State Game Lands #69 and #96, just north and west respectively, are open to the public to enjoy nature at its finest. Multiple trails through forested areas are just waiting for you and your pup to hike the day away. There are lakes or streams for fishing, and plenty of wildlife to view. These are premier spots for birdwatching, so don’t forget your camera and a pair of binoculars. Both State Game Lands are open for hunting during certain times, so be sure to check ahead of time to avoid these areas with your pawtastic pup!
