Downtown Titusville
Titusville is a modest and welcoming Western Pennsylvania town that is well worth your time to explore on foot: walk the town blocks to take in the beauty of the Northeastern landscape as well as the quaint, small-town ambiance. If you’re walking around town, you’re sure to encounter one of the many small community parks of Titusville. Burgess Park is the city’s oldest community park, and it has small ponds with charming fountains among other amenities like pavilions and a community center. Fleming Park is another small park in the center of town with scenic walkways and ornamental trees — it is a relaxing place to walk with your dog if you’re looking for a quiet setting.

Pleasantville
Pleasantville is an inviting town to the east of Titusville. It is the home of Cornplanter State Forest, a forest spanning over 1,000 acres. The forest contains many trails for hiking; there are well over ten miles to explore with your dog! The beautiful Allegheny River flows through the forest as well, making for a beautiful experience you won’t forget. The town of Pleasantville itself is also a great backdrop for a walk with your dog. State Street and Main Street cross to form the center of town, and in the surrounding area, you’ll find suburban streets and Western Pennsylvania hospitality.

Central Franklin
Franklin is a small town to the south of Titusville bordered by the Allegheny River and French Creek. It is a terrific waypoint for those traveling through the area with canine companions, as there are many dog-friendly things to do there! The Allegheny River trail passes through the town, and it is a good place for a hike with a four-legged friend. Suzanne’s Restaurant on Liberty Street is a good place to grab lunch with your pooch — note that the restaurant’s hours are 11 am to 2:30 pm Tuesday through Friday. Another good restaurant for breakfast or lunch is Amazing Foods Café; it is open Monday through Friday 8 am to 2 pm.

North Oil City
Oil City rests due south of Titusville and provides a fantastic setting for experiencing the natural beauty of Western Pennsylvania. There are a number of hiking and walking trails to choose from in the area, so you can be sure to find one that suits your needs exactly. The largest area to explore nature is Oil Creek State Park: it is over 6,000 acres of scenic woodland and contains miles of trails and the creek that it is named after. The Samuel Justice Recreation Trail also rests in Oil City and is another good location for some outdoor exploration with a four-legged friend.

Centerville
Centerville is a short, six-mile trip from Titusville, and it is a small but dog-welcoming community that you don’t want to miss while you’re in the area! Head to Crawford County Forest for a breath of fresh air and a hike through the woods. You can also explore the town of Centerville on foot (and paw!); a walk along Oil Creek which runs through the center of town is a great way to clear your mind and stretch your legs. Also consider exploring Erie Street — it is the hub of town activity, so don’t be surprised if you run into some locals also with their dogs!
