Gadsden Center
Gadsden Center is the cities downtown area with business centers located along Coosa River. The small neighborhood is also home to a gorgeous park known as James D. Martin Wildlife Park, a scenic wooded area along the water offering waterside trails and boardwalks. The park and trails are dog-friendly and provide visitors with an open area with places to have a picnic, play, and sit in the shade. Also along the water is the River Country Campground, a dog-friendly camping space with campsites, RV spots, and paved walkways to enjoy along the water. Dogs must be on a leash inside both places.

Bellevue
Bellevue is a rural community on the north side of the city, taken up by thick woods and a few residential homes. Noccalula Park offers residents a completely natural place to explore with Fido. There are dirt trails scattered throughout the woods, with a small parking lot and access to Black Creek for fishing and swimming. The park is dog-friendly, and does not require pups to remain on a leash. Also in the neighborhood is Gadsden Kiwanis Park, a more developed area that has some great features like a playground, swingsets, and a picnic pavilion. Alabama City
Alabama City is an upscale residential area west of the downtown area. The area's most known park is Hastings Park, which provides residents and visitors and lovely place to walk Fido. The area is completely covered in trees, with small spaces to run around and play on the grassy lawn, and a looping paved walkway. Features of the park include water fountains, a playground, a pavilion, picnic tables, barbeque facilities, benches, and clean-up stations available to leashed pups. The Brow is a rural community on the north side of town, made of scattered residential homes and thick woods. A lot of the woods here are protected, as they are part of the Black Creek Preserve that follows along Black Creek. The area is a great hiking spot, with hiking, walking, and biking trails to enjoy, that are made from dirt and crushed stone in different places. There are spots for fishing and picnic areas, with sandy beaches and grassy plains available to run around and play in. Dogs do not have to be on a leash inside the preserve, but be prepared to bring water and clean-up bags.

The neighborhood of Goodyear is a residential and urban area with shopping centers that is located on the east side of Coosa River. Right on the river is Riverwalk City Park, which offers a scenic spot to walk and play with your pup. The area has open space, lots of shade, forested walking trails, and a beautiful view of the river. There are picnic tables, water fountains, and benches available for leashed pups. After a day out enjoying the river and playing, walk on over to Firehouse Subs, which has some delicious subs.
