If you’re in the Harwich Port neighborhood, you and your dog are in for a treat! This neighborhood is the proud home of Thompson’s Field. This 57 acre conservation land has many opportunities to either get some heart pumping exercise, or some peaceful meditation in nature with your best pal. This area has looping trails through woods and fields of wildflowers where your dog can roam and play off-leash! There is drinking water available here too. Keep an eye on your dog, because the area is not fenced in. When it’s time to cool off with a frosty snack, head over to Sundae School Harwich Port. This Cape Cod ice cream shop offers specialty ice cream sundaes and more, that you can enjoy at one of their dog friendly outdoor tables.

This is a rural community of cranberry bogs, homes, parks, and opportunities for swimming or boating on the lake. The neighborhood is also home to Hawksnest State Park. If you and your dog want to escape into some peaceful nature, you’ve come to the right spot! This rustic park doesn't have an amenities, but it has plenty of trails meandering through the woodlands and ponds. This park is also home to some rare plants and animals, so it’s a great place for wildlife watching. Dogs are welcome throughout the park, as long as they stay leashed, don’t disturb the wildlife, and are picked up after.

One of the best things to do in Harwich is taking a stroll on the Cape Cod Rail Trail. This is just one of the many trails supported by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, and it passes right through the Northwest Harwich neighborhood. It’s very pawpular for dogs and their walkers, so be ready to make some furry friends! This 22 mile paved pathway is easy on the paws and the eyes, and short side trips lead to some of the many beaches and parks in this area. Leashed dogs are welcome! When your stomach starts growling, check out Scribanos Market and Deli. This family run Italian deli has five outdoor dog friendly tables.

Just a hop across the border into the South Dennis neighborhood of Dennis, Massachusetts, brings you to another great treat! It’s here that you can find the Fresh Pond Dog Park. This dog park has two large fenced in areas, one for large breeds and one for the little guys. Your dog can run around off-leash, and then cool down by taking a splash in the pond or taking a seat in the shade. The sand and soft grassy footing in this park is pleasant on the paws! The park also features a half mile lakeside walking trail. Don’t forget to bring waste bags and your dogs favorite ball to play with!

Just a 25 minute drive from Harwich into the town of West Yarmouth brings you to a woofderful play area for you and your doggo! In the neighborhood of Stage Coach Village, you can find the Yarmouth Dog Park. This dog park allows for some off-leash playtime, and some pawsitive socialization with other puppers in a safe environment. There are fenced in areas for small and large dogs, with dirt and gravel surfaces. There are water fountains and waste bags available for use, but don’t forget the dog biscuits for your good boy or girl! If you’d like to stay the night in this neighborhood, check out the Yarmouth Resort. They allow up to two pets for an additional fee, but be sure to call ahead and check if pet friendly rooms are available.
