You are welcome to embark on many adventures here: hike with Fido on one of the five trails, which offer about 18 miles of walking adventure in total! You can choose to start with an easy one – ruffly half a mile – or challenge your sporty mutt on the Big Oak Trail! Camping and picnicking are also available for those who want to stay a little longer. Pre-fur to play in the water? Try kayaking or boating down the beautiful Suwanee River! Don't forget life jackets!
Mostly residential and close to a few stores, Appletree is a quiet neighborhood in Gainesville, FL. Your trip from Live Oak will take a little over an hour, but the drive is well worth it! You will find Possum Creek Park at the very north end of the neighborhood, near fast food restaurants. This is a family- and pet-friendly attraction with multiple playgrounds, walking trails for on-leash walks, and a dog park. Your hound will rave about Possum Creek Dog Park, a fenced off-leash area for chases and fun! It’s pawfect for active pooches who are not afraid of getting their paws dirty. Make sure you have enough drinking water with you.
