Dog Areas in Hampton, FL

Florida is a wondrous place. This thin sliver of land located in some of the warmest waters in the world practically gives you beach access from every city in Florida. Hampton is no exception. Even though there are less than 500 residents in Hampton, the small city is close to plenty of things to do and see.

Hampton is a primarily residential town, so inhabitants have to head to neighboring towns and areas to find things for their pups to do and see. Luckily, the central location of Hampton allows residents to spend time not only in large Floridian cities, but also gigantic parks and nature preserves.

If you and your pooch are in the mood for a day out in nature, head to one of the many nature preserves or parks in the area. They are all jam packed with nature, beauty and magnificent scenery. Just make sure you don't forget your camera at home!

However, if a big city is more your speed, head to Gainesville or Jacksonville. These two muttropolitan cities have plenty to do for you and your pooch. Plus, if all else fails, you can always take your pup to the beach and have a great time basking in the hot Florida sun!

Although there is not a lot for you and your pup to do in Hampton, the city is home to its very own Hampton Lake. Hampton pup owners flock to this lake every day to walk, relax, sit by the water, and fish. Consider even renting a boat and spend the day on the water fishing with your pup. Your pup will go wild watching you pull fish out of the water! Just beware, the lake does not have any facilities for humans or pups. You will have to take your own water, leash, and puppy poop bags for your lakeside adventures.

If you drive less than ten minutes from Hampton, you can take your pooch to Santa Fe Swamp Conservation Area, located in Starke, Florida. This gigantic nature preserve is over 7,000 acres in size, with plenty of wildlife, fishing, and hunting. It is a beautiful swamp where plenty of humans take their pups for long walks on the many trails the park has to offer. However, it is important to remember the park is actually a swamp, and 90% of it is wet. You may want to make sure you and your pooch are wearing the proper footwear!

Although one of the closest dog parks is approximately forty minutes away from Hampton, it is definitely worth the drive. You will find Poochie's Park in Orange Park. This dog park is more sophisticated any of the other parks in the area because it is staffed as long as it is open. Furrrthermore, it is one of the cleanest parks in the area where pups can run wild and free without the constraints of any leashes. Plus, it is a pawesome place to take your pup to socialize and meet other pooches, since this park is popular with the locals. Trust us, your pup will love you for taking them to Poochie's Park!

Drive just thirty minutes from Hampton to Gainesville, where you will find Haisley Lynch Dog Park. This dog park is one of the most visited dog parks in the area. It is a wonderful place for pups to play and humans to relax. It is also completely fenced in so your pooch will be able to run wild and free without a leash. In addition, the park provides all the amenities you and Fido may need, including water, doggie poop bags, and a trash can. You won't have to bring anything from home except your pooch and yourself! (And plenty of energy to play, of course.)
