Brooker

Lake Geneva is just five minutes from Santa Fe Swamp Conservation Area. This nature preserve is over 7,000 acres in size and offers an incredible amount of things to do and see with your pup! You can spend your day hiking, walking, watching out for wildlife, hunting, or just relaxing. This park has something for everyone, so feel free to bring the whole pack. Just make sure you take a leash, dog toys, and plenty of water. This area is also a popular spot for hunters, so you might want to give it a miss during hunting season if your pooch gets startled by loud noises.

Kingsley

Just north of Lake Geneva is Camp Blanding Wma. Although this is a military base, it is also a gigantic nature preserve. Many locals flock to this preserve on the weekends for some peace and quiet, exercise, and hunting. It's also a popular park with local dog owners, so you and Fido are sure to sniff out some new friends. This park is also used as a hunting ground, so avoid it during hunting season if you have a shy pup. Please bring some waste bags along and clean up after your dog to keep the park nice and tidy for everyone. Dogs must be leashed at all times here.

Belmore

There is nothing like spending a day outdoors with your pooch and soaking up all of Florida's natural beauty. If you're craving a day in nature, drive just a few minutes from Lake Geneva to the neighborhood of Belmore in Keystone Heights. Here, you will find Belmore State Forest, a large forest preserve where you and Fido can explore to your hearts' content. The park is incredibly large, making it a great place to get in a run or bike ride. Make sure you keep your pooch on a leash at all times, as it is easy to get lost within the park. Trust us, Lassie will pawsitively love this park!

Etoniah Creek State Forest

Another magnificent park in Florida that's only ten minutes away from Lake Geneva is Etoniah Creek State Forest, located in Florahome. This forest is 8,679 acres in size, and is full of trails, lush greenery, water sources, and plenty of outdoor activities. The park also has many picnic tables and fire pits for cooking, and is a great spot for sunbathing and bird-watching. If you and your pup consider yourselves outdoorsy types, you will love this park because it is home to an endangered plant, Conradina etonia -- this park is its only known habitat! Be sure to snap a few photos, and make sure to keep Spot on his leash.

North Waldo

Just a short drive from Lake Geneva, you will find the neighborhood of North Waldo. Although Waldo Canal Park is not a dog park, it has plenty for you and your pooch to do. The park is a small green area next to a large lake, making it an ideal place to fish. You can rent a boat and take it out on the water or simply sit by the water with some food and a good book. Since this is not a dog park, you will have to take some supplies with you, including water and waste bags. Make sure you keep your dog leashed at all times.
