“Best job ever and I love the company of a dog!”

I have lived in Orange Park, FL for 15 years. I've been around dogs most of my life. Currently we own a Shih Tzu, a lab, and 3 cats. All of which are very spoiled. I frequently watch my neighbor's animals. She has a dog, 3 cats, and 6 chickens. I love animals and the only time I enjoy walking is when I'm in the company of a dog.

Hi, I’m Alena! One of my favorite hobbies in life is being with animals, especially dogs. I have volunteered with the Virginia Beach SPCA, and I like to spend my time doing pet sittings, walking, and doing the dog’s day out program with Jax Humane Society whenever I’m available. My family has two Havanese pups and a senior schnauzer that I love to care for when I visit my family. Thank you for considering me and have a great day!

Hi, my name is Stacey. I just moved to Jacksonville with my family almost a month ago. I lived in the Tampa Bay Area for 38 years. My first dog was a Scottish terrier named Scotty. My family has always had animals and I cannot imagine life without them. I started pet sitting to help my best friend because he worked long days. I have a little over 8 years per sitting experience with all size ranges of dogs. I enjoy pet sitting because I enjoy helping others and love that being around animals changes your day.

Dog Walking in Asbury Lake

The unincorporated community of Asbury Lake -- also known as Lake Asbury -- is the pawfect place for pet owners who love nature. If you’re searching for a new place to settle down, you’ll be happy to know that many of the homes in this rural, residential area feature large yards where your pooch can play off-leash anytime! The only veterinary clinic in this community is for horses, though, so you’ll need to drive over to Middleburg to find quality care for your pooch.

Asbury Lake is nestled next to the Black Creek Ravines Conservation Area, where you and your furry friend can explore the day away. This preserve features more than 900 acres of scenic wilderness and offers family-friendly activities like horseback riding, wildlife watching, fishing, boating, and much more. Keep your eyes peeled; you might even see a bald eagle!

Lake Asbury itself is also a beautiful place to watch the sunset with your pup pal, or cast a few lines while Fido relaxes at your feet. If you’re a fishing enthusiast, you’ll be pawsitively delighted with some of the species you can catch here. Some locals note that only residents are allowed to fish here, though, so make sure you obtain special permission before embarking on your lakeside adventure.

Although Orange Park does not have many dog parks, it makes up for it with its one tremendous dog park, Poochie’s Swim and Play Park. Located only 15 miles away from Asbury Lake, Poochie’s Swim and Play Park is one of the most fun parks your dog will ever set paws in! This completely fenced-in park is off-leash and welcomes dogs of all ages and breeds. Unlike other dog parks, there is not a large grassy area to play in, but there is a blue pool that will remind you of a beautiful blue lagoon for your dog to swim and splash in!
