Mount Jordan
The neighborhood of Mount Jordan sits at the northwest corner of Sandy, and consists of a suburban area that encompasses downtown. The area is home to one of the strangest shaped parks, Dewey Bluth Park, a 5.8-acre field with tennis courts, restrooms, open fields, and a baseball diamond. The park is dog-friendly to leashed pups, and offers water fountains and benches. David Street Park is on the west side of the neighborhood and provides an adequate place to run around for you and your pup. The ample open space has a small walking trail, trash bins, and benches. Owners must keep Fido on a leash and bring their own clean-up bags.

Quarry Bend
Quarry Bend is a neighborhood that used to be made up of an old rock quarry, but is now filled with residential apartments. One of the best parks of the neighborhood is the Quarry Bend Park featuring 8 acres of land that surrounds the old quarry and provides 1.7 miles of paved walking trails. Dogs are welcome in the park and have plenty of places to run, play or just take a nice walk around the neighborhood. The path leads to Amphitheater Park, a 16-acre park with overlooking mountains and rolling green fields. Fido must remain on a leash at both parks.

Cranberry Hill
The neighborhood of Cranberry Hill may disappoint some residents because of its lack of cranberries, but it will delight most dog-lovers thanks to the multiple parks found here. Cranberry Park is a well-kept area with a children's playground and surrounding open space. The park is known for its large, open area and dog-friendly atmosphere for leashed dogs. The park provides water fountains and trash bins. Honey Bee Canyon Park is another option in the neighborhood, and offers a more natural experience with 2 miles of rugged nature trails, and gorgeous views of the desert landscape and towering mountains. Dogs must remain on a leash at this park, and owners must bring their own water and clean-up bags.

Margaret Park
Margaret Park is the southwestern neighborhood of Sandy, and features lots of open plains and rolling green areas. The neighborhood is the best place for dog-lovers thanks to the Jordan River Rotary Park. The park offers 10 acres of natural land, a playground, and sheltered picnic areas. Dogs are welcome at the park while they are on a leash, and can enjoy the grassy areas for fetch, or just take a walk along the paved paths. Dogs are also welcome at the kayak boat launch and along the shorelines of the Jordan River. This park also provides access to the start of the Jordan River Parkway Trailhead, a 43-mile long, dog-friendly trail that follows Jordan River through the town of Sandy and north into other towns. Dogs must remain on a leash while on the path and be cleaned up after.

Cresent White Willows
The Cresent White Willows neighborhood is at the center of the city, but still provides plenty of dog-friendly space among the urban setting. Lone Peak Park is a haven for dog walkers, with over 28.8 acres of open land, making it the second largest park in Sandy. The park has playgrounds, multiple ballfields, a skatepark and indoor pavilion. Dogs must remain on a leash at the park, but can enjoy the concrete walking trail that encircles the park, water fountains, clean-up stations, benches, and trash bins. Also in the community is a 10.7-mile trail named Porter Rockwell Trail, which also allows leashed dogs, but only provides trash bins in the parking area.
