Spring Arbor is a small, unincorporated community in southern, central Michigan. Appropriately named for its numerous artesian water springs which populate the lakes and rivers throughout the area, Spring Arbor is welcoming to visitors. Dog-friendly throughout, there are eight veterinary clinics in the nearby city of Jackson, ready to take care of your fur-ever friend.

You will find plenty to do with your pawtastic pup in Spring Arbor. Gallagher Park offers sports enthusiasts fields to play in, with restrooms on site.

Another puptastic area is Harmony Park with its open spaces, benches and museum. A walking path here is perfect for you and pup to stretch your legs.  

The Lime Lake County Park has a beautiful lake to swim in that is frequented by scuba divers as it is a former mining quarry. There are kiddie playgrounds surrounded by open space as well. For some hiking fun, you will find the Falling Waters Rail Trail runs through this park and continues for over 10 miles to adjacent towns. This multi-use trail is perfect for all pup-abilities.

The Kate Palmer Sanctuary, located in the Spring Arbor neighborhood of Jackson, just east of the town of Spring Arbor, is a 53-acre paradise, just waiting for you and your fur-ever friend to visit. This sanctuary is home to numerous ecosystems, marshlands and natural springs. The Sandstone Creek also runs through, making for a beautiful setting and place to relax with your pup. Within this pristine park, dedicated trails have been established so you and Fido can meander through the woods, and alongside the water’s edge. Wintertime is perfect for snowshoeing here. Bring plenty of bottled water and keep your pawtastic friend on leash here.

The Ella Sharp Park covers a whopping 562 acres, and it is jam-packed with outdoor activities for you and your fur-iendly pup. There are multiple trails which wind through the park and intertwine, providing hours and miles of enjoyment. They meander through landscaped grounds, wooded areas, and past the on-site 18-hole golf course. There are numerous flower gardens which you and your pup can visit. Restrooms and water are on-site, but be sure to keep Fifi on leash throughout this park.

Visit the Burr Hill neighborhood in Jackson, east of Spring Arbor, with your fur-ever friend and stop by the William Nixon Memorial Park. This park has something for everyone and every pup!  It covers 16 acres and offers a swimming pool and playground for the kiddies, and a dedicated skateboard and roller arena where you and your pup can enjoy watching all the action. There are four sports fields where Fido can stretch his legs on an extended leash. Don’t forget to bring mutt mitts to clean up after your pup. No day would be complete without sharing a picnic together.

This beautiful green space is full of landscaped grounds, perfect to spread a blanket and relax. Benches are provided throughout for you to sit and read, or do some people-watching. Visit the Dettman Road neighborhood, in the city of Jackson, with your fur-ever friend if he is looking for some off-leash playtime! Here you will find the Paws Playground, an off-leash dog park that is located within the Cascades Humane Society’s grounds. Here, your pup can mix-it up with the neighborhood dogs. There are separate areas for small and large dogs, where they can romp and play in safety with pups their own size. It is completely fenced and open to all dogs. Please check-in when you arrive inside the Humane Society.
