Holt is a sleepy little community with plenty to offer its four-legged residents and visitors. Located in Ingham County, Holt is just north of Mason in the Great Lake State of Michigan. Although it is a small community, there is one veterinary clinic, as well as an animal hospital in Holt, so you can rest easy knowing there is help should your pup start feeling a little under the weather.
A must-see when in town is the 45-acre Valhalla Park, the central recreation area for local residents and visitors alike. Here, you will find a beach area at the lake, as well as picnic areas with cooking facilities, toilets and a playground. Your pup will have a ball with you and your family here! The Valhalla Trail winds from the park, through wooded areas and around the lake, and south to Holt Road where you can then take an easy walk downtown. This is an on-lead area, but a pleasant and easy way to get around.
When hunger strikes, head to one of the pet-friendly places to eat, such as Buddies Grill for some pub-style grub, or Zaytoon for a Mediterranean feast.

Your dog will love his on-lead stroll through the Veterans Memorial Gardens in Holt. There is so much to see here, so much history – it is a truly special place.
