Waverly
Waverly is a standalone community east of Grand Ledge, nestled between Delta Charter Township's eastern border and Lansing. This place has everything a tired traveler may need, including public parks, cafes, and even a shopping mall in the downtown area. Hunter's Orchard Park, sitting at the northern extreme of Waverly, is a wonderful lush park with hiking trails and plenty of room to explore and sniff! The area has no designated dog park, but there’s enough green grass to wallow in and sand to dig up! Follow the flow of the Grand River, and you'll discover another facility for leashed walks – Delta Mills Park. This park is simpler than its neighbor, but it's quiet and less crowded.

Old Everett
The Old Everett neighborhood in the southern part of Lansing will charm you with the pastoral atmosphere of a small rural community and an abundance of green and recreational areas. The neighborhood is the perfect place to stretch your legs before traveling farther in Michigan, or just having a mindful walk near the water. Everett Park is a large, open space to explore with your leashed Fido. However, if you want more wildlife and walking trails, Scott Woods Park will suit better. Keep your buddy on their leash when kayaking down the river, exploring the trails, and watching out for wildlife like white-tailed deer.

Patriarche Park is one of the central neighborhoods in East Lansing; however, it is also a nice spot to hide from the city buzz in green areas with Fido. Comfortably hidden away from the bustling highways, yet located close enough to many shopping facilities, the neighborhood centers on John M. Patriarche Park. This large green area is home to multiple playgrounds and sports fields, as well as picnic and play areas. Pooches are welcome but should stay on-leash. This popular park is a wonderful place to share a sandwich or some snacks with your buddy before continuing on your travels. Don't forget the water and waste bags!
