Twin Falls treats dogs right, and Baxter Park is just a bark away at 240 Shoup Street. This public park attracts hundreds of dogs from all around the state and sometimes beyond. This grassy fenced enclosure entices hounds, poodles, and the neighborhood mutts to run and socialize. The park provides water, waste stations, and benches for people to sit. The dog park has a separate enclosure for dogs weighing 30 pounds or less. This park opened in 2014, and is very well-maintained by the Community Foundation and the City of Twin Falls. This dog park is one of many green spaces in Twin Falls, and their locations are easy to obtain through the city’s website.

West Twin Falls

The western area of Twin Falls has its share of things for dogs to see and do. Twin Falls County operates Rock Creek Park, a popular RV campsite. Access to the RV Park is at 900 Addison. This 12-acre park is open to the public and has hiking and water activities on the lake. All dogs, whether campers or day visitors, need to be on their leashes. There are hiking trails along flowing creeks, one of which has aa bridge overhead for a pawesome view. Rock formations give this park an extra rugged look, and make hiking a more beautiful and challenging thing to do. The park has pavilions for picnics or barbecues. This park is a true getaway that is still close to town.

East Twin Falls

The East Twin Falls neighborhood offers a dog a chance to explore many green areas. Harmon Park provides dogs and their humans a much-needed break from city life. This nifty little 20-acre space takes up several blocks of Locust Street. The  park offers many places to walk, sniff, and make some new fur-iends. This well-maintained public park has all the facilities for you and your dog to make a day of it. Several pavilions are available in the park for outdoor dining, so pack a picnic! If you just want to stretch your legs, a walk at the Sunrise Park can do the trick with its open grassy area.  This little 2 acres is located at the 300 block of Madrona Street.

West/Shoshone Falls

Shoshone Falls Park draws visitors from all over the country. This dog-friendly large park features one of the wonders of nature -- a spectacular 212-foot waterfall that is higher than Niagara Falls! Be sure to bring a camera to capture this gorgeous phenomenon. The park itself has miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, and large open areas for you and your dog to enjoy. Dogs must stay on leash while visiting the Park. There is a $3 admission fee. The Red Lion Hotel, located at 1357 Blue Lakes, caters to visitors of the Falls and welcomes their dog.  Dogs of any size stay at one of the 112 pet-friendly rooms for only $15 a night. The Red Lion also offers all the amenities of a fine hotel.

South/Castle Rocks

The Castle Rocks State Park is a bit of drive, but well worth it! The park is 80 miles south of Twin Falls, and the landscape changes just a bit. The terrain is rocky here. There are places for hiking and for rock climbing. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash. The State Park has camping spots available. There are also cabins that are dog-friendly, making it the pawfect place for a weekend getaway.  Pinyon pines line the hiking trails, and provide green beauty to the campsites. The nearby town of Almo has all the supplies you need to camp or just scout out the majestic rock walls of the park. You and your dog will make unforgettable memories together while enjoying the rugged, majestic beauty of this unique park.
