Hokendauqua Park and Playground is home to the Ironton Trail Trailhead, where you can park up, fill you water bottles at the fountains, and set off on a great on-lead walk with your pooch. The Ironton Trail is a rail trail following the route of the old Ironton Railroad, and is one of the 1,600 nationwide trails supported by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. Total distance on this one is approximately 9.5 miles, with a 6-mile loop and 3.5 mile spur. At Hokendauqua Park, you will also find ball courts and sports fields as well as picnic areas and restrooms. Keep your pup leashed while exploring the trail and park, and always clean up any mess he leaves behind.

The Whitehall Parkway is a massive 110-acre green space where your pup will love to come out and get some fresh air with you. There are many trails through here, so take some time to explore the grounds and admire the lovely scenery. Wander past the historic buildings, keep watch for the many birds that call this park home, and take walk around the lake. You can also do a spot of fishing here if you are keen on catching dinner! North Coplay
Saylor Park in Coplay is a historic site worth visiting while you are in Whitehall. The Ironton Trail connects here and takes you past the old Coplay Cement Company Kilns, built in 1892 and still standing as a monument to past industry in the area. The park has many other features too, making for a great family day out. Let the kids loose on the playground, unpack a picnic on the grass or at the pavilion, or throw around a ball in the open grassy space. Pets are permitted in this park and along the rail trail, but must be leashed at all times.

The Catasauqua Creek runs right through the park, providing the opportunity for scenic walks and many lovely waterside places to rest.
