The town of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania lies along the Ohio River, close to Pittsburgh, and was originally known for its steel and iron industries. This now urban town offers a thriving riverfront business and arts district, with its goal on rejuvenation of the entire community.  And with three veterinary hospitals ready to take care of you fur-ever friend, your pup is covered!

Within McKees Rocks, you and your pup will find plenty to do. There are two small parks, perfect for some relaxation time together. Norwood Park is entirely fenced, and offers a small playground, two picnic tables, and a bit of grassy area to sit.  Meyers Ridge Park also sports a small playground and some grassy areas. Neither have restrooms or water, so plan accordingly.  

Looking for a place to walk? Take your pup to the Montour Trail. This multi-use recreational trail, formerly the location of the Montour Railroad, is mostly level and suitable for all pup-abilities. It stretches over 47 miles, and is used for bicycling, jogging and walking in the summer, and cross-country skiing in the winter.

Located in Riverview Park, there are two areas separated for large and small dogs, with water bowls and toys provided. Clean up stations are on-site as well. Afterwards, enjoy the people park which spans over 250 acres. There are extensive trails which intertwine through the woods, both level ones for small dogs and steep trails for those more energetic pups. Take the Riverview Loop for a scenic stroll. This park celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2014 and continues today to welcome residents and visitors alike with its dog-friendly things to do. With over 50 acres of land, you and Fido will enjoy lots of open space, just perfect to relax the day away together. Many come to watch the kiddies play in the swimming pool or play on the sports courts. There are also ball fields where you can catch a game. Restrooms and water fountains are on-site.
