This neighborhood has one of Glenshaw’s most popular parks, Fall Run Park, which welcomes dogs on-leash. This beautiful park is home to a hiking trail that leads to a stunning 30-foot waterfall. You and your pup will both enjoy seeing the sights on this peaceful hiking trail. If you’re hungry after your hike, bring your dog over to Hartwood Restaurant & Whispers Pub. This restaurant serves an eclectic array of foods from around the world, and they make their dishes using local ingredients. Dogs are welcome on Hartwood’s patio, and your server will bring your dog a water bowl. They’ll also allow you to order portions of food for your pup!

Perry North

When you want to let your dog run off-leash, head over to Riverview Park in Pittsburgh’s Perry North neighborhood. This park is about seven miles from Glenshaw, and it has a fenced-in area where dogs can play and make new friends. There are separate areas for large and small dogs, and both parts of the park are nice and shady. There’s no water within the dog park, so be sure to bring some water with you. After your dog is done playing at the dog park, put their leash back on and take a long walk on Riverview Park’s wooded trails. Or, go for a stroll on the two-mile Riverview Loop.

Pearce Mill Road

This Alison Park neighborhood is home to a furrific off-leash dog run, North Park Dog Park. This large dog park is only seven miles from Glenshaw, and it has separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs. There are doggy bags available, and there’s a water hose you can use to fill your pup’s water bowl. While your dog plays in the park’s grassy field, you can relax on one of the park’s benches. After the dog park, continue your fun day out with lunch at Blue North Restaurant. Dogs are welcome at this restaurant’s outdoor tables, and they serve fresh farm-to-table dishes, including burgers, grilled salmon, and their signature short rib shepherd’s pie.

Shadyside

For a great on-leash walk with your dog, head over to Mellon Park in Shadyside. This park is just about eight miles from Glenshaw, and it has a lovely walled garden that’s filled with fragrant flowers. You and your dog will have a pawesome time exploring this historic park. If your pup is a good boy or girl at the park, treat them to a snack at Petagogy. This local pet store offers natural treats and dog food, and they also sell homemade dog biscuits from a local pet bakery. You’re sure to find something your dog will love here!

Hartwood Acres

Hartwood Acres is home to the always-fun Hartwood Acres County Dog Park. This dog park is seven miles from Glenshaw, and it has a fenced-in, grassy field where your dog can run around off-leash. Bring your dog’s Frisbee or a tennis ball, and have fun playing fetch with your pup here. Be aware that water is only available in the summer — the pump is turned off in winter, so make sure to bring your dog some water if you’re going then. After your dog is finished in the off-leash area, continue the fun with an on-leash walk on one of Hartwood Acres Park’s beautiful hiking trails. You and your dog will have a pawesome time exploring these trails.
