Baldwin

Baldwin

A fourteen minute drive from the heart of Jefferson Hills will take you to Baldwin's Leland Park. Baseball is the name of the game at Leland Park, but your leashed dog could also enjoy a great time there. Walk the perimeter for a great overview of the park, or just explore the small grassy sides of the fields. With four baseball diamonds stacked together, just this could turn out to be a challenge! With so much to see and sniff, your dog will be getting plenty of mental stimulation in addition to exercise. Bring a doggie bowl so your pup can make use of the drinking fountains!

South Park

South Park

Hop in the car and drive 12 minutes to the Pittburgh neighborhood of South Park. You won't be disappointed! The largest park in the neighborhood is aptly named South Park. While the main park has a lot to offer--long walking paths, wooded lanes, picnic tables, and more--the real draw for pups is the South Park Dog Park. Your dog can be the bark of the town, and new friends are always on order. If your shy dog would prefer not to meet other pups, you can go to the much smaller Wilson Park. This simple grassy park is perfect for undisturbed walks, but your pup does have to be on leash.

South Pleasant Hills

South Pleasant Hills

Just eight minutes from Jefferson Hills is the similarly named community of Pleasant Hills. Mowry Park is a large area that features baseball, baseball, and more baseball. This is literally true, because they have three baseball diamonds! There's not as much to do if you're not into the sport, but your dog could still have a great time. You could either walk laps of the area (a challenge, since the park is so large) or you could tire them out watching balls flying back and forth! There is also a small picnic area if your dog is more the relaxing kind.

Wilson

Wilson

Wilson is a Clairton neighborhood, just a ten minute drive from Jefferson Hills. The City of Clairton Park is a large, sprawling park with several distinct areas! Whatever you're looking for, you'll find it here. Start at the first section, which has a playground and a picnic area. Head deeper into the park to find the sports section. With two baseball diamonds, plenty of other sports fields, and a basketball court, the sports section is overflowing. You can keep walking through it to find the Memorial Hill Loop. This walking path runs up and around a small hill, and is the most remote part of the park.
East Jefferson Hills

East Jefferson Hills

Tepe Park is a small community park pawfect for pleasing the whole family! This park features a playground, sports fields, and a walking area for your dog! If you have a high energy pup who loves to go and go, bring your running shoes. This park has paths, but dogs have to stay on leash. If your dog is a little more laid back, let them follow their nose across an unused sports field or take a break at the covered picnic tables. It's also wise to bring a doggie bowl so your pup can make use for the drinking fountains!
