Dog Areas in Winterpock

Winterpock is a small unincorporated community in eastern Virginia. Seated in Chesterfield County, this community doesn’t have much to offer dog owners other than about 30 vet clinics within 13 miles. However, there are countless amenities available in Richmond, which is just a quick 20-minute drive from Winterpock.

Some of the most popular dog-friendly activities nearby are dog parks. Forest Hill Park, just 30 minutes northeast, is in the heart of Richmond. Clean and situated on a lake, this park is complete with a running trail and a gorgeous, flowing creek. Harry D. Daniel Park, just 20 minutes east of Winterpock, is packed with trails for walking or jogging alongside Fido, and there’s even a playground!

If you’re not in the mood for a trip to the park, consider South of the James Market. This farmers' market is open every Saturday of the year, come “rain or shine,” on 42nd St New Kent Avenue in Richmond. This market is known for being particularly dog-friendly, so be sure to bring Fido down “South of the James” River to enjoy live music, snack on food-truck treats, and support local artisans.

Although Winterpock itself is small, it’s definitely within reach of some fantastic parks and activities in neighboring communities. Pawesome!
