I was born and raised in Richmond, grew up with a standard poodle and have raised another poodle. I’ve been taking care of neighbors pets since I was 11, and I’ve loved all of them! I volunteer at RAL as a dog crew member. I love animals, if it were humanly possible I would rescue all of them! With me, your furry friend will receive lots of attention and plenty of exercise, and I’d treat them as my own.

Hi pet parents! I'm Abbey! I'm originally from the Mechanicsville/Richmond area and have just moved back home after finishing my Masters degree at Virginia Tech. I've always loved animals, especially dogs -- 'dog' was actually my first word -- so sitting and walking are a natural fit! I love the opportunity to save up a little extra money for student loans & traveling, while also getting quality exercise and time out in nature :) I have my own Chocolate Lab, Otis, (who I love so much) and therefore feel confident with larger, high-energy dogs!I'm not exclusionary, though, and am happy to give attention to cats and other types of animals!Flexible schedule & willing to do other household tasks (water plants, pick up mail, etc.) Can send messages/pictures/videos of happy pups upon check-in, walks, or sitting. Open to long-term arrangements and one-time walks alike!Happy to provide references or answer any questions! Also willing to pass along cell number & email for easier communication! Hope to hear from you soon!

Dog Walking in Doswell

An unincorporated community that’s in between the pupular cities of Fredericksburg and Richmond, Doswell has some deep Civil War roots. It sits at the crosshairs of two large railroads that supplied the Confederacy during the war. Today, Doswell is best known for its major amusement park, King’s Dominion.

Pups can’t follow you to the park, but there are plenty of other dog-friendly things in neighboring towns and cities, as well as vet clinics in Ashland and Ruther Glen, which are both less than 15 minutes away. Ashland also has a few dog-friendly chain restaurants and a TA that’s a great place to stop for a potty break with your pooch if you’re on the way south to Richmond. Taylor Dog Park is pawfect for giving your dog some off-leash fun!

Check out Richmond for virtually endless dog-friendly dining options with just about any type of food you crave. The city is also a great place to find some fenced dog parks, like Northside Dog Park, which has two separate areas to keep dogs safe. Or, bring Max to the Stony Point Fashion Park, an outdoor mall where leashed dogs can window shop.

Doswell has plenty of fun for families, and nearby cities and towns offer plentiful pawportunities for dogs!
