City Center
Right in the heart of the city, you will find Virginia Recreation and Park Society. Not only will you find a complete listing of all the parks and centers in Virginia by county, but you will also find a pretty barktastic park. There is a playground, sandbox, and a walking trail. You can find a list of all the events in the area, including the dog-friendly ones. There is a huge section of resources as well. Bring a leash and come play with other dogs. Of course, you will want to have doggie waste bags on hand. There is water available.36

Hanover/Wayside
The Hanover Wayside Park is more than just a place to walk your dog. There are a series of trails and even a playground, but the star of the show here is the Veterans Memorial. Here, you will find a display of all the Veterans from the Civil War to World War II. It is an inspiring place to come and walk your dog. This is an on-leash park, but you will find water fountains along the trails. Please remember to clean up after your pet so that others can enjoy the beauty of the park as well.
