Marion is a lovely city with an open, welcoming community and easy freeway access.  If you’re visiting from out of town, there are three pet friendly hotels right off the freeway, offering great access points into the rest of the city. Though there’s only one central veterinary center, it’s very highly rated and ready to take good care of your pup.

There are a number of parks located around Marion. One of the most outstanding ones is the Marion Recreational Complex, a large area with a long lake that stretches across the eastern end. There’s a walking trail that circles around this lake and the Fishing Bridge that stretches across it, providing well shaded routes for both you and your pooch while you enjoy the shimmering waters.

Tucked in the center of the city is the Marion Lake Nature Trail, which follows the west bank of Marion Lake.  Leashed dogs are welcome on the path. The trail is approximately half a mile and takes about ten minutes to walk, making it a good option for a short stroll back and forth. Trees are planted along one side to provide shade, just remember to bring enough water for you and your pup! Wherever you are in Marion, you’re sure to have some wooftastic fun.
