Banning Idyllwild Panoramic / Forest

The Idyllwild Park is a beautiful 202-acre park that offers a great forested view, amazing hiking trails, and a nature center, all for you and your pup's enjoyment. There are restrooms, a picnic area, and showers available as well at this pawsome park. Best of all, there is a dog park for your pup to run around in, featuring two separated sections of the dog park for large and small dogs. The park offers running water, a clean-up station, shade, benches, and tennis balls for your pup to play with. If Fido loves rolling in grass, you're in luck since this park if filled with it.

Idyllwild / Pine Cove

If Fido is a bit hungry while the two of you are exploring Idyllwild, stop into Restaurant Gastrognome. This pawsome eatery has an upscale menu with favorites like rainbow trout, lamb, and pepper steak. Jo'an's Restaurant and Bar dishes out delicious American fare with a courtyard BBQ dining area. Their menu offers classics like burgers, fish and chips, and salads that Fido will be wanting a lick of. The Town Baker has hearty breakfasts that are perfect if you are about to go on a hike. With a charming atmosphere and delicious baked goods, your pup will love spending time with you at this dogtastic restaurant.

Lower Fern Valley

The Idyllwild Park Nature Center is a great park to check out with your leashed pup. This beautiful park offers picnic tables, a museum, restrooms, and tons of trails that both of you can hike along and get your walk in for the day. Hiking the trails will give you and your pup a stunning view of the San Jacinto Mountains, but if you would rather just relax, make sure to enjoy the tour that the park offers. Don't forget to bring water and clean-up bags with you when you and your dog are enjoying this dogtastic park together.

Saddle Junction

The Tahquitz Peak Trail offers an amazing 6-mile hike that gives you and Fido an out and back route type through the mountains. With a 2,352-foot elevation gain, you and your pup will get a great workout while you hike this trail together. The trail doesn't offer a lot of shade, so make sure to bring plenty of water. The terrain on this hike is a bit rocky, so make sure to check your dogs feet while you hike or get some booties to protect his paws. The area tends to be quiet, so you and your pup can hike in peace together.

Pine to Palms Highway

Less then five miles out of Idyllwild is the Hurkey Creek Park. This beautiful park is a great getaway from town and offers beautiful pine trees, a seasonal creek, and a great mountain view. If you dog wants to get a good walk in, check out all the trails that run throughout the park. For the overnight adventurers, there are campsites available, so you and your pup can stay the night under the stars if you choose to. Located in Mountain Center, your pup will love the small car ride to check out this great park with you.
