Borrego

The Anza- Borrego State Park is where you will want your adventure to begin. You can walk up the side of the mountains and look down on the former lake bed. From this view, you can see the wildflowers in bloom all year long. You can check in at the visitor center and pick up some water, but it is highly recommended you bring your own. Please remember that you will need to keep your pup on a leash, and that there are a few trails where pups aren't allowed. While you enjoy the historic significance of the area, Fido is sure to love all the new sights and smells!

Riverside

Palomar Mountain has Barker Valley Trail waiting on you to come and explore just thirty miles from Anza. Here, you'll find a 7.5-mile trail that will lead you and your pup through the Cleveland National Forest. You will need to keep your dog on his leash while you are on this hike, but with so much to see, he won't mind. There are a few springs dotted throughout the area. However, they are sparse, so you should make sure to bring enough water for you and your pup. There is lots of wildlife to see, but please don't feed the wild animals or let Fido harass them.

Los Ranchitos

Temecula Exercise Area is the pawfect place to let Fido off his leash so he can stretch his legs and make some new fur-iends! With three barktastic acres, there's more than enough room to roam here. You can meet up with other pet owners and learn more about the area, or just sit and watch your pup play. The water fountains are always clean, and the trash is cleared out regularly. If you have a shy pup, you'll love this spot because it is quiet and out of the way of heavy traffic.

Metropolitan Water District

JC Pooch Park is the place to have your pooch's birthday party. It is about half an hour from Anza and has so much to do that you could easily spend the entire day here. Once you check in at the front desk, you have access to five acres of fun. There are wide open spaces with tons of balls to chase and throw. You can play on the agility course, or you could just meet a ton of new friends to play with. You will find everything that you need while you are here, including plenty of seating where you can relax and chat while your pup plays.

Torrey Pines

Torrey Pines Dog Park is an adventure in the making. It's part of the larger Torrey Pines Park, which is located less than half an hour from Anza. This puptastic park has everything you need to have a good time, including a snack bar, restrooms, BBQ grills, picnic tables, and even playground for your mini-humans. Your pup is welcome to explore all these amenities with you, provided he's on-leash. If you want to let him roam free, head over to the fenced, off-leash area.
