Hi, my name is Lois and I grew up in Riverside with several dogs ranging from a German Shepard to a Chihuahua with a couple of mutts thrown in just because they needed a loving home. I was (very sadly)dog less for a few years due to long hours at work. Now I have a Corgi that inspired me to start walking again every day. There is no happier look on her face than when we are ready to go for a walk. Thanks to Wag!, I can not only make my own dog happy, I can help your dogs be happy, too.

Dog Walking in Temecula

The city of Temecula, California, is a total hit with the tourists thanks to attractions and sights as the Temecula Valley Wine Country, Old Town Temecula, and the Temecula Valley International Film Festival. But Temecula is not only a great place to visit by yourself. With splendid pet-friendly hotels such as the Ponte Vineyard Inn or the Temecula Creek Inn, you can bring your dog too!

You can’t think of the Temecula Valley and not think of wine. Luckily, you can take your canine friend with you when touring the many vineyards the Valley has to offer. Palumbo Family Vineyards & Winery, Gershon Bachus Vintners, and Hart Winery are just a few examples of vineyards that allow dogs.

If you want to give your furry pal some exercise, there are also plenty of options. The JC Pooch Park is a 5-acre dog park divided into three areas: a 2-acre grassy field where dogs can run and chase balls, a 1000 sq. ft. pond for dogs that love to get wet and an area for small dogs.

The Redhawk Community Park is also a great option as it is the home of Temecula’s first dog park. Dogs can run around without a leash in one of the two areas, depending on its size. The park is readily and easily accessible from the highway and offers a way for you to relax and your pet to get rid of some of that energy.

What’s better than an afternoon in a scenic dog park? An afternoon at a scenic park with a natural water source. If you head a little north of downtown Temecula you will find Temecula Duck Pond. This park is not primarily a dog park, so you may want to keep a leash handy. It is, however, a great place to take your dog for a stroll or even a run. You can even pack a picnic and relax by the water, feeding ducks. Just make sure your dog won’t run away from you while chasing all the natural wildlife in the area!
