North Santa Fe Drive

North Santa Fe Drive

San Luis Rey, conveniently located within the Oceanside area, offers you a chance to explore the city’s surroundings and enjoy the comfort of shady public parks. North Santa Fe Drive curves along Guajome Regional Park, with beautiful scenery and an abundance of wildlife for leashed walks with your puppy! The walking trails lack drinking water facilities, but are paved, nicely shaded, and feature benches. Want to try some Hawaiian food without leaving California? Pay a visit to Ohana Hawaiian BBQ, a pet-friendly restaurant just a few blocks away from the park. Leashed dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables.

East Side Capistrano

East Side Capistrano

East Side Capistrano is one of the neighborhoods in Oceanside, located west of San Luis Rey. Since it mostly features residential quarters, you might call the place sleepy, but San Luis Rey Mission Expressway adds some buzz, bringing a number of drive-thrus and convenience stores to the area. Your pup will fall in love with Oceanside Dog Park, a pet-friendly facility on San Luis Rey Drive, operated by North Community Humane Society. Let your mutt run off-leash, dig up the turf, and chase a few new friends in the fenced terrain. The park is located next to the dog shelter, and provides benches and drinking water for your comfort.

Pacific Tides

Pacific Tides

Pacific Tides is one of the coastal neighborhoods of Oceanside where you and Fido can enjoy the warm California weather at the cafes situated along the waterfront. Come by and have a nice walk at Buccaneer Beach Park, a public recreation spot with walking trails and a beach! Your pup should be leashed at all times and is not allowed in the beach area. But don’t worry! You and Fido can enjoy the comfort and low-key atmosphere of the cafes along the South Coast Highway. Most of them offer pet-friendly outdoor tables or patios with relaxing marina views and cheerful atmospheres, such as Jennie’s Cafe, serving the best breakfast in the city!

Townsite

Townsite

Townsite occupies the central part of Oceanside, combining multiple smaller neighborhoods together. The waterfront offers beautiful and relaxing views, which you can enjoy while sharing dinner with your mutt at one of the many pet-friendly cafes in the area. Why not enjoy a wonderful leashed walk at Tyson Street Park, a seaside playground with simple equipment, pet-friendly policies, and picnic areas? You won't be able to let your mutt off-leash here, but locals often walk their dogs here, so Fido might just sniff out a new friend! Once in Oceanside, you should definitely visit Local Tap House and Kitchen, an American café with a large dog-friendly patio and an abundance of treats for your sweet tooth!

Carlsbad Village Drive East

Carlsbad Village Drive East

Stretching through the heart of Carlsbad, California, Carlsbad Village Drive winds to the east, eventually running into College Boulevard, right across Calavera Nature Preserve. The street also offers an access to Hidden Canyon Community Park. This is a public park with a playscape, grassy areas, and huge shade structures for you and Fido to rest under. Ann D. L’Heureux Memorial Park is set in the northern part of the park, featuring an extensive fenced playground for pooches to enjoy some off-leash playtime! Since this park is pawpular with the locals, you'll surely find some new furry friends here! The park provides agility equipment, sandy cover, benches, and drinking water fountains.
