When visiting Sun City in California, you will easily see how the small town got its name. The town is typically very dry with a "dry-summer subtropical" climate. Luckily, Sun City is located right by Canyon Lake, so you and Fido can cool off while visiting. Only seventeen miles out of Temecula, your pup will love exploring the dog friendly eateries that Sun City has to offer with you. Home to one veterinarian, you know that Fido will be well taken care of in case of an emergency.

The E.L. Pete Peterson Park is a fantastic spot to stretch your legs and let your dog get some fresh air. The park has a beautiful walking trail that has plenty of shade from the numerous trees that fill the park. There is also a playground, BBQ area, a pavilion for shade, and plenty of green grass to roll around in.

After a fun day out at the park, stop into the Provecho Grill for a delicious bite to eat. The Provecho Grill dishes out tasty Mexican food with a full ball and classic dishes. If Fido isn't feeling like Mexican food, then you can check out the Yellow Basket Restaurant. This dogtastic eatery serves a variety of American-style dishes that Fido will love. Both of these restaurants are dog-friendly, so bring your pup along with you for a bite to eat.

After visiting the numerous pet friendly parks, restaurants, and trails that Sun City has, your dog will be begging to come back.

Tire out that excitable pup at The Menifee Dog Park located in Menifee, just three miles out of Sun City. This pawsome dog park is filled with agility equipment for your pup to play on and trees to help keep Fido cool. This pawsome dog park is separated into two, so big and little dogs can play with pups their own size. With picnic tables and benches inside the park, you can kick your feet up while your dog has a fun time off leash. The park is filled with dirt, so Fido may come home a little dirty, and don't forget to bring some water so your pup can stay hydrated.
