The Cap Homme/Ralph Adams Park in Palm Desert, California is just three miles, and less than a 10-minute drive, from Rancho Mirage. Located in the southern part of the city, Adams Park is a 27-acre space with multi-use trails, an off-leash dog area, and a great place for having a picnic. The off-leash area is at the base of the trails, and it is only surrounded by some low wooden bars, so if your dog is a high jumper or an expert escape artist, it may be best to keep them on a leash. Dogs are required to be leashed on the walking trail, and some visitors note it is quite a rigorous hike.

Sunmor

Palm Springs is another popular resort city in California, and it's less than a 20-minute drive from Rancho Mirage. The central neighborhood of Sunmor is home to the Palm Springs Dog Park, which is situated right behind City Hall. The Palm Springs Dog Park is a 1.6-acre dog park that includes a separate small dog area and a double-gated entry system. This park also has fire hydrants, water fountains for dogs and humans, picnic tables, and benches. You'll enjoy the solar-powered lighting and the shade provided in the park, as well as the picturesque, custom-made fence surrounding the park. More than 10,000 dogs live in Palm Springs, and the city is working toward building a second dog park.

Palm Desert Center

There's another dog park in Palm Desert located in the center of the city that's just over a five-minute drive from Rancho Mirage. The Civic Center Dog Park is a generously-sized dog park that includes different areas for big and small dogs. The park is surrounded by a sturdy fence and has a double-gated entry system for added security, and there are water stations and waste removal supplies in the park as well. For your comfort, the park is also outfitted with shaded areas and seating. Civic Center Dog Park is part of a 70-acre park that also has sports fields, playgrounds, and other activities.

East Palm Desert

Eastern Palm Desert is home to another fun dog park, and this one is about a 15-minute drive from Rancho Mirage. Freedom Park is a 26-acre park that has sports fields, playgrounds, a skate park, and walking paths in addition to the dog park. The off-leash dog park isn't a particularly large space, but it's in a convenient location, and it has everything you need for a successful dog park trip. The dog park is well-maintained and includes big and small dog sections, as well as water stations and waste disposal supplies. If you'd like to walk your dog on the trails in the park, you're welcome to do so as long as they're on a leash. 

Palm Desert Country

The Joe Mann Dog Park in the Palm Desert area known as Palm Desert Country is about a 15-minute drive from Rancho Mirage. Joe Mann Park is a 2.5-acre neighborhood park that has sports fields and courts, a rose garden, playgrounds, and picnic facilities in addition to the dog park. The dog park isn't an incredibly big one, but it includes separate areas for big and small dogs, and the park is known for being clean and well-maintained. This off-leash park is a great place to take your dog to socialize, but if your dog needs a bunch of room to run, it may be better to visit a bigger park in the area.
