“Dog lover and friend to all animals!”

Hi, my name is Sam Fiorini! My love for dogs is what sparked me to enter the wonderful world of Wag! Dog Walking. I've done dog walking and dog sitting for my friends for my entire life and I've done volunteer work for a couple of animal shelters. I understand the importance of trusting someone to care for your fur babies. I grew up in a household with just as many babies as there were fur babies. I currently have 2 dogs of my own.

Hi, I'm Miranda and I'm currently a college student in San Francisco. I have been walking dogs since middle school when I got my own dog, a chihuahua named Penny. Last year, I volunteered at the animal shelter SF SPCA which included walking and socializing dogs. I absolutely love all dogs and ensure that your dog is taken care of and gets some exercise.

Hi! I’m Artemis (for fans of Greek mythology, the goddess of wildlife —so it’s my nature to protect pups). I fall in love with every animal I meet (including yours!), and I believe in giving our pets everything they give to us: love, care, loyalty and lots of fun. In addition to taking care of my own pets, I have experience walking dogs and pet sitting — I give a pretty mean belly rub, too.

Dog Walking in Indio

Indio supports seven veterinary options, from private practices to animal hospitals, despite having only 88,000 residents. That’s a lot of animal care to go around, since not everyone is a pet lover--as hard as that is to believe. Not everyone is as well equipped as dog lovers to enjoy it, but Indio is actually a puppy paradise.

Start with a hike through Berdoo Canyon Road Drive, where leashed dogs are welcome to accompany you on a 6.7 mile hike with fantastic views of the valley. If you’re looking for something a little easier, consider the McCallum Trail. This dog-friendly hike is only 1.7 miles in a loop, and while there is some elevation gain, it doesn’t compare to Berdoo Canyon Road Drive. For a blend of the two, Moon Country Trail is a 4 mile loop that might give you exactly what you’re looking for.

Whatever you decide to do in Indio, you can find a great place to sleep at night. Motel 6 Indio is a pet friendly hotel that doesn’t charge a pet fee. If you’re alright with a small extra charge, your options are more numerous, including Royal Plaza Inn, Quality Inn & Suites Indio, Days Inn Indio, and Super 8 Indio.

Colony Park

If you’re looking for a quiet park to walk your dog, head to Dr Carreon Park in Indio’s Colony Park neighborhood. This park is small and simple, but that makes it the perfect retreat for shy dogs. A few laps around the park should take the edge off their energy! If your pup loves the hustle and bustle, go a few blocks across the neighborhood to South Jackson Park instead. This park is focused on community involvement. There’s a playground area for kids, and community complex, and sports fields! This park is much more popular, and there’s more room for a leashed dog to walk.

Shadow Hills

Dog Park Shadow Hills is a conveniently located off leash dog park that’s pupular with the locals. If your dog loves to kick up their heels, this is the place for you. The dog park is a simple space with fences, some grass and dirt area, and room to roam. If your dog gets tired of the crowd, you can leash them up and walk the area around the dog park. There are some paths that lead a little ways into the hills, and there are gorgeous views of Indio below. Bring your own water and plan to go during the day, as the park isn’t lit at night.

North Indio

North Indio

Even in the busy North Indio neighborhood, people make time for relaxation. Dogs don’t have to make time for it; it comes as naturally to them as we wish it did to us! If you find yourself running between the residential and commercial sides of North Indio, stop with your dog at North Jackson Park. This community hub is usually busy with people coming and going. There’s plenty for a curious dog to see! Bring your own bowl, because there aren’t drinking fountains the right size for your pup. If you want a quieter experience, try Yucca Park. This nearby park is smaller, and could be quieter.

North La Quinta

Eighteen minutes from Indio is the neighborhood of North La Quinta in La Quinta. You have two amazing dog parks to choose from within this space. The first is Seasons Dog Park which has separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, making it the perfect place to let your big pup run free. The section for small dogs is a bit smaller, however. Prepare to play fetch to really stretch your pup’s tiny legs. The other option is the Fritz Burns Dog Park, located inside Fritz Burns Park, and is a smaller area with one clear advantage: the bright lights let it stay open until 10pm!

The Sunmor neighborhood of Palm Springs is 25 minutes from Indio. What makes it worth the drive is the Palm Springs Dog Park. This community maintained space is perfect for social dogs and their owners! This park has several fenced off areas, so your dog can find the right playmates. There are pools in the summer, and a small pond year-round. There are climbing rocks and dirt/sand fields for running and playing. Waste bags are provided, as well as water fountains. Palm Springs Dog Park is an oasis in Sunmor, and your pup is going to be barking about it for a long time.
