South Twentynine Palms
The neighborhood of South Twentynine Palms is a desert neighborhood with residential homes and views of the Joshua Tree National Park State Park to the south. Standing out from the desert terrain is a lush green park known as Knott's Sky Park. The park has a well-kept green lawn that runs over an open space and recreational area, with two baseball fields, a playground, paved walkways, two pavilions, and restrooms. Dogs must remain on a leash, but will have access to water fountains, clean-up stations, trash bins, and benches. The Motel 6 is a dog-friendly hotel in the neighborhood that allows dogs to stay overnight. The motel allows up to two pets per room, with a fee per night.36

Twentynine Palms Center
The Twentynine Palms Center is a bustling neighborhood with homes, shopping centers, and bustling streets. Among the busy area is a small park known as Bucklin Park, which provides a nice flat and open space for pups to play on. The dog-friendly park is a long narrow strip of land with benches, trash bins, and paved walkways to take a stroll on. Dogs must be on a leash while at the park, and can only visit from 10 AM to 7 PM. The community is also home to the Mesquite Springs trail, a 2.6-mile trail that follows through the northern desert part of the town. The trail is paved and welcomes leashed pups, providing benches along the route.24

East Twentynine Palms
East Twentynine Palms is another residential neighborhood in the city, mixed with an open desert area. Luckie Park is the favorite in the city, and is an oasis compared to the rest of the neighborhood thanks to its vibrant green lawns, open space, and shaded sitting areas. There are four fenced-in baseball areas, two soccer fields, a basketball court, a playground surrounded by trees, and a pool that is off limits to pups. Besides the pool, pups can travel anywhere in the park and enjoy plenty of shade, room to run around, and paved walking trails to take a stroll on. Additional features include water fountains, benches, and trash bins.12

Cadiz
The Cadiz is the largest neighborhood in the city that takes up most of the northeast region, mostly with natural lands and beautiful views of the mountains. Outdoor pups and humans can head out here to enjoy the Sheephole Valley Wilderness, a nature preserve that has gorgeous sweeping high desert landscapes and lots of nature trails. Dogs are not required to be on a leash when you take them out to explore this area. Don't forget to pack plenty of water and clean-up bags for your trip! Afterwards, head to The Rib Co., a barbeque restaurant in the neighborhood that has dog-friendly outdoor seating. There are complimentary water bowls and delicious ribs that you can share with Fido.
