The Joe Mann Dog Park in Palm Desert, just three miles out of Indian Wells, is an awesome fenced in park where Fido can run around off leash in a safe environment. With both a large and a small dog park that is filled with grass, your dog is going to love socializing at this dog park. The park offers shade for everyone and benches for owners to sit on. Afterwards, grab a bite to eat at Mario's Italian Cafe which serves delicious Italian food. Their menu includes pizza, pasta, and chicken, plus they have an outdoor patio which welcomes your pup to join you for your meal.

La Qunita Beat 45

Take Fido out to the Lake Cahuilla Recreation Area in nearby La Quinta and enjoy the amazing 710-acre park that is located right at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains. The park offers hiking, fishing, swimming, and horseback riding. If you and your pup want to spend more time enjoying Lake Cahuilla, then make sure to grab a campsite and spend a few nights under the stars. If camping isn't your thing, you can still spend a pawsome day at the park and enjoy the BBQs and picnic tables for a lovely outdoor meal. Make sure to bring sunscreen for both you and Fido, and bring an umbrella since there isn't a lot of shade at the park.

The Cove

The nearby town of La Qunita is home to a plethora of dog friendly eateries that you and your furry pal can dine in together. Check out Twenty6 which is a casual American bar and eatery that serves up tons of tasty food. Their menu includes soups, salads, and sandwiches. The Morgan's in the Desert offers freshness and flavor in every dish they offer, like Ahi tuna, Colorado lamb, and duck breast. The Nitrolnfusions is a specailty ice cream shop that serves made to order ice cream. Their unique ice cream is made using liquid nitrogen to produce a silky smooth texture. All of these pawsome restaurants offers a dog friendly patio and welcomes your furry pal to join you.

Mirage Estates/ Ivy League

Only five miles out of Indian Wells in Rancho Mirage, your dog will love visiting the Rancho Mirage Dog Park. This park is a fantastic spot to take your pup if he needs to get off leash and run out that energy. The 4.5-acre dog park has separate areas for large and small dogs, and also features shade and benches for owners to sit on. The park is mainly made up of dirt, so Fido may come home a bit dirty, but the park does provides water and clean-up bags in case you furget yours.

The Mesa

Take a breathtaking hike on the South Lykken Trail in Palm Desert and feel the burn with Fido by your side. This pawsome hike gives you an amazing view of the Coachella Valley and Mt. San Jacinto. With and out-and-back trail route, your pup will love hiking this 3.5-mile hike that will leave you with an amazing workout after a pretty steep up-hill climb. With an elevation of 2263-feet you may want to take this hike a bit slow if you and Fido are new to the hiking game. Make sure to bring plenty of water since it can get hot on the hike.
