Elliot Corner
If you and your dog are looking to get away from the busyness of downtown and want a nice place to enjoy a meal and relax, head out to the Elliot Corner neighborhood. Located on the edge of Mariposa is the Mariposa Coffee Company where you and your dog can sit down and get a cup of coffee together, plus enjoy the beautiful mountain view. This family owned coffee shop serves a variety of delicious coffee options, plus some pastries to go along with it. They have a dog friendly patio that welcomes your four legged friend to join you.36

Briceburg
Get a good hike in with your furry friend by your side on the Merced River Trail. This 13.1-mile trail will take you along the Merced River and into the Merced River Recreational Area. You will get an amazing view of the Yosemite Valley while the two of you hike along the trail. The trail is perfect for beginners since it only has a 482-foot elevation gain, and an out and back route type, so you can't get lost. Located in Midpine just six miles out of Mariposa, this trail is perfect for a good hike with your furry pal.24

Darrah
If you and your pup are on a journey to Yosemite, but need a place to stop and stretch your legs, stop at Darrah Park in Mariposa. This park is on the outskirts of Yosemite and is a great area for your dog to sniff around and get a walk in before you hop back into the car. Although the park doesn't offer a lot, it still has restrooms for owners, shade provided by trees, and a little walking trail that you can use for a walk together. The park doesn't have any grass and is mainly packed dirt and pine needles from the trees.12

Mariposa
The Mariposa County Park offers some great amenities that your dog will be jumping for joy over. The park has a playground, covered picnic area, and plenty of trees for shade. There is tons of grass that Fido can run along, and a great hiking trail that goes around the park, but still gives you the feel of being in the woods. After a fun day out at the park, grab a bite to eat at Betts Gold Coin Sports Tavern. This eatery offers a causal sports bar atmosphere with a menu that dishes out tasty pub grub. The Sugar Pine Cafe is a diner that serves traditional American fare like pancakes, burgers, and pasta. Zorba Greek Cafe dishes out traditional Greek food like falafels and shawarma. All of these restaurants have patios that welcome your furry pal to join you.
