Newport Beach, California, is an affluent seaside resort with a population of over 80,000 people, not including the many visitors in the summer months. The magnificent beach has been the location of many popular T.V. shows and a favorite among surfers. Bird watchers, naturalists, and outdoor fans in general, will enjoy the many regional parks. However, Newport Beach has a lot to offer pet lovers as well.

The famous Newport Beach is open to dogs as well as long as they are leashed and only at certain time frames. The ocean front beaches allow leashed dogs from 4.30 pm to 10.00 am and the bay front beaches from 5.00 pm to 9.00 am. Dog owners can visit the Newport Beach Dog Park outside these hours. This park offers a large area for dogs of all the sizes to romp around off-leash. There is plenty of shelter from the warm California weather and a water fountain.

Shopping at Newport Beach is a blast with the presence of Fashion Island, a marvelous outdoor mall that is very welcoming to pets. Not only are dogs allowed on the promenade; they are allowed inside in the majority of the stores.

Newport Beach, California, is on the top on the list of places to visit with many people. The fact that there are many pet-friendly hotels, including well-known names such as Hyatt Regency, Fairmont, and the Balboa Bay Club & Resort, in town make planning a trip to Newport Beach with pets a breeze.
