Presidio

Presidio

In San Fran's Presidio neighborhood, located 29 miles from Nicasio, you'll find a great doggie beach that's pawfect for those of you who prefer beaches over parks. Baker Beach has a lot to offer visitors! Other than the fact that it's doggie-friendly, it's also welcoming to families. At the end of the beach is a section for nudists, so be aware of that when you visit. You are even allowed to let your pup roam off-leash north of Lobos Creek! For the doggie parents, there are restrooms on-site and even free parking. Water and poop baggies are not provided on the beach, so be sure to bring your own.

Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park

San Francisco's Golden Gate Park is another pawesome park where doggies will surely have plenty of fun! This huge park is located approximately 30 miles away from Nicasio and includes four different off-leash doggie areas! Make sure to pay attention to posted signage, and check to make sure where your pup is allowed off-leash. There is one fenced area at Fulton & 38th where you'll find plenty of toys and tennis balls are scattered around. Make sure you don't forget to bring water and waste baggies for cleaning up after your pooch, and beware of the poison oak in the park!

San Marin

San Marin

Want to avoid San Francisco? Thirteen miles away from Nicasio, you'll find Dog Bone Meadows at O'Hair Park, located in Novato. This park is properly fenced and puppies can frolic around off their leads. The park has plenty of space to play in and there are a few doggie obstacles that will keep your pooch entertained. There is a gated smaller area for small doggos. Running water and poop baggies are provided on-site. The ground is part grass, part dirt, which is snifftastic for Fido! As a respawnsible doggie owner, you should clean up after your pup, and have your pooch up to recent vaccinations.

Cascades

Cascades

If you and your canine companion are hikers, you'd be barking mad to miss out on Cascade Falls, located around 11 miles away from Nicasio. This trail is considered easy to moderate in difficulty and pooches are welcome to join you as long as they are leashed. The trail is accessible all year long and it's ruffly 1.5 miles long, making it perfect for the less athletic furry friends. At the end of the trail, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Cascade Falls, and on the way, you will see (and sniff!) plenty of wildflowers and wildlife. The trail is also kid-friendly.
Outer Sunset

Outer Sunset

For those of you who prefer chilling on a sandy beach while your dog enjoys the waves, paw on over to Ocean Beach, located 32 miles away from Nicasio in San Francisco. Doggies are allowed off their leads from stairwell 1 to stairwell 21. In all other areas of the beach, you will need to have a leash on your pooch. The beach is huge, and there are always plenty of doggies here, so it's pawfect for playing and socializing. The sand is soft and the beach is very clean. Make sure you bring fresh water and waste baggies for cleaning after your fur-baby.Keep reading
