Being in the Mojave Desert, Valyermo may seem a little daunting to visit! However, it's a great town to explore with your furry friend by your side. The town is pretty small, but it's only 17-miles out of Palmdale, and home to tons of hiking trails you and Fido can roam around together. Valyermo is such a small community, there aren't any veterinarians in town, but West Covina next door has veterinarians your dog can visit.

If you and Fido want to check out a killer hike, then look no further then the Devils Chair Trail. The trail is 8.3-miles with a high elevation of 1686-feet. The hike is awesome since the trail walks along two earthquake fault lines, which created amazing rock formations. Make sure to bring a lot of water while hiking this trail since it gets hot.

The Mount Baden-Powell Trail is a great place to hike with Fido. The trail is 9-miles through the Angeles National Forest and will be an all day hike. The elevation for the hike is 7,900-feet, so if you're a beginner in hiking, you may want to skip this one. When you reach the summit, you will get a beautiful panoramic view of the Mojave desert and the Southern Sierra. Make sure to keep Fido leashed when hiking, and don't forget food and water while you two are out on this adventure.
