Book now“I just wanna pet every dog and cat I see <3”
I love dogs and cats and have been helping people take care of them since I was a child. Really I love all animals but this app will only let me take care of cats and dogs presumably. I do live in an apartment with a cat who doesn't play well with others so unfortunately I can't dog/cat sit in my home but I'm excited for this opportunity nonetheless!

Eastern Niantic
Eastern Niantic
One of the largest natural areas along Connecticut's highly developed shoreline, the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve in nearby Niantic is perfect for hiking with your best pal any time of the year. This beautiful, 450-acre wooded area overlooks the Niantic River and is home to numerous flora and fauna, including at-risk and endangered species. With that said, always keep Fido on a leash to help protect wildlife and their young. The Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve is accessible via Veterans Memorial Park. Don't forget to pick up a trail map at the informational kiosk; with 7 miles of trails meandering throughout the preserve, you'll definitely need it.

Looking for the pawfect spot to have a picnic with a view with your pup? Look no further than McCook Point Park in the town of Niantic, with a beautiful green lawn shaded by copper beeches. Situated on top of a bluff overlooking Niantic Bay and Long Island Sound, the park also has a playground, walking paths, a tented picnic area, and a pretty wooden pavilion where performances are held. You and Fido just might catch a concert, especially if you're visiting during the summer. To the west of the bluff is McCook Point Beach, a small, white sand beach that's only a few steps away from the park.
Western Niantic

A popular spot for hiking, camping, swimming, and fishing, the Rocky Neck State Park in Niantic features varied terrain, diverse trails, and one of the region's largest beaches. The 710-acre park also houses a historic stone pavilion, multiple picnic areas, and several wooded and open campsites. There's something for everyone here, including four-legged family members, though note that leashed doggos are only allowed on the hiking trails and in the picnic areas north of the train tracks. Take an easy, leashed walk on the trails with Fido and enjoy views of the ocean, salt marsh, and Baker's Cave. It is recommended to visit during the off season to avoid the crowds.

Named after the Nehantic Indians, the Nehantic State Forest was the first state forest in New London County. Fido is welcome to join you in exploring these historic wildlands as long as he remains leashed. The Nehantic State Forest is a puptastic place to take your best friend for a quiet hike, swim, or picnic while surrounded by nature. To make things even more fun and exciting, official letterboxes are hidden throughout the forest, so be sure to bring your personal record book and stamp. Keep in mind that hunting is permitted in the forest, so you may want to avoid visiting during hunting season.

Located in the neighboring town of Waterford, Mago Point Park is a furrific place to take in views of the Niantic River and watch the sunset with your pup by your side. Despite its relatively small size, the park contains walkways, benches, and an observation deck that lets you get a closer look at the boats coming in and out of Niantic Bay. Enjoy a packed dinner on one of the benches at Mago Point Park, or take a short walk to the nearby Dock Restaurant. This dog-friendly eatery allows four-legged customers on the deck, which also offers great views of the water.
