The trail is paved to make the hike easier, and there is no elevation gain, making it a great hike for first time hikers. The trail offers benchs and drinking fountains at every mile marker and there are numerous ways to enter and exit the trail if you want to cut your hike short. Make sure to keep your pup on a leash while you enjoy this hike, and don't forget your clean-up bags.

Sorrento East

If you and your pup are hanging around the Sorrento East neighborhood and hunger strikes, it is home to a great restaurant the two of you can dine at together. EGGS-TRAordinary Cafe is a popular morning and midday eatery that offers traditional American food in a casual and inviting setting. Their menu includes favorites like blueberry pancakes and biscuits and gravy, or lunch options like BLT wraps and burgers. Your dog will love sitting besides you while you enjoy your meal on their outside patio. While dining out you will get a beautiful view of the gulf, making it a perfect meal.

East Nokomis

The Nokomis Community Park is a beautiful space to take your pup out to for a great walk. The park offers great amenities like a covered picnic area, grass for fetch, a playground, and numerous sports fields. Take your pup out onto the walking trails that go throughout the park. Make sure to bring water and clean-up bags with you. Next door to the Nokomis Community Park is the Pocono Trail Preserve which offers birding, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and trails that you and your pup can hike together. Make sure to keep your pup on a leash.

Venice Island

If Fido is looking for a fun hike to do, try out the Venetian Waterway Park Trail located in Venice, and just two miles out of Nokomis. This pawsome trail is 9.3-miles long and offers a paved path that any skill level of hiker can traverse. The trail follows along the Gulf of Mexico, and has a bridge you can cross over if you want to walk on the island next to the trail. This trail is known to be in the top ten for the state of Florida, so youur pup will have a great time hiking it with you.

South Venice

Take Fido out to the Brohard Paw Park for an amazing time. The park is the only beach area in the county that welcomes your four legged friend beach access. This amazing park has a water fountain, doggie showers, a fire hydrant, leash posts, picnic tables, and benches for owners to sit on. Your pup will love chasing the waves from the Gulf of Mexico or digging in all the sand at the beach. Make sure to bring clean-up bags with you to this pawsome dog beach. Located in Venice, your pup will have an amazing time here.
