Dog Walking in Nokomis

Nokomis is a beautiful beach city in Florida that sits along the Gulf of Mexico. If your pup loves hiking, then Nokomis is perfect for him since it holds 2.5-miles of the Legacy Trail. There are three veterinarians in Nokomis as well, making it a fantastic spot to be at with your pup.

Take your pup out to Laurel Park for a fun day out together. The park is open from 6 a.m. to midnight, giving you plenty of time to get a walk in and explore together. The park has amazing amenities like a playground, basketball courts, a picnic pavilion, and exercise stations. Take a walk along the paved path that runs throughout the park. 

Grab a bite to eat at Saltwater Cafe. They have a huge menu that offers over 300 items, including seafood, steaks, pasta, and pizzas. Their outdoor patio is covered and welcomes your four legged friend t o sit beside you while you chow down.

Get a good night's rest together at the Nokomis Inn and Suites. They welcome Fido to stay the night with you for an additional fee.

Take Fido out on a great hike along the Legacy Trail. The trail is 10.7-miles long, 2.5 of those miles run straight through Nokomis. The trail is paved to make the hike easier, and there is no elevation gain, making it a great hike for first time hikers. The trail offers benchs and drinking fountains at every mile marker and there are numerous ways to enter and exit the trail if you want to cut your hike short. Make sure to keep your pup on a leash while you enjoy this hike, and don't forget your clean-up bags.

The park offers great amenities like a covered picnic area, grass for fetch, a playground, and numerous sports fields. Take your pup out onto the walking trails that go throughout the park. Next door to the Nokomis Community Park is the Pocono Trail Preserve which offers birding, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and trails that you and your pup can hike together. If Fido is looking for a fun hike to do, try out the Venetian Waterway Park Trail located in Venice, and just two miles out of Nokomis. This pawsome trail is 9.3-miles long and offers a paved path that any skill level of hiker can traverse. The trail follows along the Gulf of Mexico, and has a bridge you can cross over if you want to walk on the island next to the trail. This trail is known to be in the top ten for the state of Florida, so youur pup will have a great time hiking it with you.
