If you’re in the mood to dine out, several restaurants in the area offer accommodations for pets. Lime Fresh Mexican offers a large outside seating area and tasty fish tacos. The Cheese Course also has outdoor seating and a wide range of Artisanal cheeses from spots all over the globe. Or, if you’re looking for something adventurous, try Kuluck – Persian dishes and belly dancers galore!
Visiting from out of town? Several hotels in the area allow pets to stay. La Quinta allows small-sized dogs with no additional fee. If you’re staying in the area long-term, there are several options, including Sawgrass Inn & Conference Center allows up to two dogs per room, while Extended Stay America offers a maximum $150 fee for one dog. Residence Inn charges a one-time fee for dogs of any size.
Also calling Plantation home is the Happy Trails Dog Park. With over five acres of space, and separate fenced-off areas, this off-leash dog park is more than your average park. Downtown Plantation is located near plenty of shopping, dining and outdoor recreational activities suitable for humans and dogs. Plantation Heritage Park is a large 88.5-acre park located in central Broward County. Guests at the park can enjoy hours of quality family time at the park's several amenities, including beautiful nature trails or the 1.25-mile fitness trail. All amenities can be enjoyed by Fido as long as he is on his leash. The Three Bean Bakery cakes and treats are made from the finest human ingredients, but don't be fooled -- they’re made for pups! These natural treats are free of wheat and corn as well as preservatives! They're also affordable, which is sure to leave your dog barking for more!
Davie, Florida is conveniently located off South University Drive and the Sunpass Toll Road. This community is surrounded by universities and colleges, and offers a lot of fun dining and entertainment options for humans and dogs alike. John Williams Park is a gorgeous beach-front park on the boardwalk that offers 5 picnic pavilions, interactive fountain, playgrounds and a dog park! The John Williams Dog Park includes a dog park area, picnic pavilions, an instructional pavilion, and benches. The park includes the Sheridan Oak Forest, which offers a nature trail where you Fido can learn more about the vegetation growing in the area.
Oakwood is located directly off Interstate 95 and offers residents, visitors and guests with doggies plenty of dining, lodging and entertainment options! Performance Pups Freshwater Dog Beach is home to the cleanest freshwater dog lake in the area! This fenced-in area allows dogs to swim and play off-leash. Please note: swimming by humans is not allowed at the park. Emerald Hills Lakes Dog Park is a intimate dog park that has two separate areas for large and small dogs. VCA Stirling Square Animal Hospital, Tail Waggers Pet Grooming, and PetSmart are a few services and stores useful to canines in the Oakwood community.
Sunrise, Florida is only a short 4-mile jaunt north of Plantation and is a very family-friendly locale that is surrounded by beautiful homes, country and golf clubs. The Gary B. Jones Park for People and Pups is a clean, fenced-in dog park that includes a ton of space for your pooch to play off-leash! Tate’s Comics always welcomes well-behaved pets to shop with their owners in the 10,000 square foot space. You can browse the aisles, enjoying wide selection of toys, comics, books, statues, and art! Strathmore Diner, Grande Pizza, and Busters Doughboy & Clam Cakes are some local dog-friendly eateries in Sunrise.
Broadview Park is conveniently located off Florida’s Turnpike and 12th street.
