The Oaks Park is an awesome 17-acres of fun and exploring that your dog will love to visit while in North Port. With an amazing trail that takes you through a wooded area of the park, and plenty of seating and picnic tables for when you and your pup need a break, your furry pal will love going to Oak Park. The trail is known to be big among bike riders, so keep Fido close on leash.
With 160-acres of grass, trees, and nature, the Myakkanatchee Creek Environmental Park is another great park to let your furry pal run around. This beautiful park offers winding paths, footbridges, wooded trails, and pavilions for shade.
Head to the Budget Inn North Port to get a great nights rest with Fido by your side and make sure to grab a bite to eat before settling down for the night. Buffalo Wings and Rings offers freshly made wings, plus burgers and tacos. If your dog isn't licking his chops at this one, then check out Beef 'O' Brady's for some American fare and great drinks. The fully fenced in park offers a small and large dog area, so everyone can play with pups their own size. There is a kiddie pool for pups who love water, water hoses, and covered pavilions. If you forget your doggie bags, the park provides some for you. The Garden of the Five Senses is a lovely park down the street from The Canine Club, and a great park to take Fido to if he isn't in the mood for socializing. The 16-acre park offers restrooms, a walking path, and a small waterfall.

If hunger strikes when you are in North Port, there are plenty of great dog friendly restaurants the two of you can dine at. First Watch serves delicious breakfast and lunch options, including French toast and turkey burgers. Applebee's offers great grill favorites like tacos, steaks, and double crunch bone-in wings. If Fido is trying to stay a little healthier, then jump over to Panera Bread which dishes out great salads and soups daily. If your furry pal is dying for a tasty burger, stop into Five Guys and grab a burger with fries and a shake. All of these pawsome restaurants offer dog friendly patios where your furry pal can dine with you.

The restaurant is located on the Bobcat Trail Golf Club and dishes out American comfort food like nachos and wings. Make sure to call ahead to check the hours of the Bobcat Cafe before heading in. Bema J's Bistro serves Italian and American cuisine with a casual neighborhood setting. Their menu includes tasty favorites like linguine with meatballs and chicken Alfredo. Both of this dogtastic restaurants offer dog friendly patios where Fido can dine alongside you.

The Edgewater Dog Park is a great off leash and fully fenced in dog park in Punta Gorda, just twelve miles out of North Port. The park provides water bowls, water hoses, and waste bags. If you're worried about your pup playing with dogs his or her own size, the park offers a large and small dog section. Filled with grass for your dog to roll around in, the park also features a pavilion and picnic tables for owners to relax on. If Fido isn't a fan of the dog park, the two of you can still enjoy the Edgewater Park. This 10-acre park offers a baseball diamond, basketball court and a playground.

The Myakka State Forest offers biking, camping, horseback riding, fishing, and hiking all in one fantastic spot. Located in Englewood and twelve miles out of North Port, your pup will love hiking the 40-miles of marked trails that the park offers. If Fido isn't up for exercise but you both want to enjoy the park, take advantage of the picnic area which have grills and tables. Spend a few nights up in the forest and enjoy a nice camping site at the Myakka State Forest with Fido by your side but make sure you get a permit before pitching a tent. While in the forest, your dog needs to stay on leash.
